We checked 35 Prime Day power station deals. Most were real, but far smaller than advertised

We measured every markdown on the brands’ own stores during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days (Oct 6–7) against the price each power station usually sells for. 23 of 35 were real deals; 3 cost more than usual.

By Wenny Zheng, Portable Power Tester
The stores’ markdowns claimed 20% off (the median). Against the usual price, shoppers saved 6.9%. Pictured: the BLUETTI AC200L, the DJI Power 500 and the EcoFlow DELTA Pro, with what each store claimed and what its own price history shows. Product photos: the makers

A unit’s usual price is the price it sold for on the most days in the 90 days before the sale, the same “usually” price our product pages print. On 26 of the 35, the store’s crossed-out price sat above it, so the advertised saving was bigger than the real one; on the other 9, the two matched.

The brands

Which brands’ Prime Day sales were real?

Most markdowns at EcoFlow (10 of 13) and Jackery (9 of 12) were real deals, and 4 of BLUETTI’s 7. Jackery’s claims came closest to what shoppers saved, at 54¢ of real saving per advertised dollar; EcoFlow’s ran furthest ahead, at 16¢.

DJI’s and Goal Zero’s standing crossed-out prices bring the figure for all 35 down to about 27 cents. Anker cut prices with automatic codes our checks don’t read; its story is below.

Was EcoFlow’s Prime Day sale real?

Mostly, but much smaller than “Up to 58% OFF”: 10 of its 13 markdowns were real deals, and the deepest real cut was 14.3%, on the DELTA 3 Ultra.

What about DJI, Goal Zero and Anker?

DJI and Goal Zero did not change a price on their own US stores during the event. The “was” prices on DJI’s Power 2000 ($1,899) and Power 500 ($499) had been there since at least Aug 22. DJI’s US site during the event (Oct 7) showed no Prime promotion (archived copy). Goal Zero’s home page the evening before the event (Oct 5) showed no Prime promotion (archived copy).

Anker is not in our counts. Its store raised several prices in September, then brought them back down with automatic discount codes our price checks do not read; that story is below.

The timing

When did the Prime Day sales really start?

Weeks early at Jackery and BLUETTI; on the day at EcoFlow, whose deepest prices arrived Oct 6 and were gone by midday Oct 8.

  • EcoFlow: three or more units were at least 5% below their usual price from noon PT on Oct 6 through midnight PT on Oct 8, about two days. Its archived sale page already showed the cuts at 1:54 AM PT on Oct 6, after our midnight check.
  • Jackery: on some checks from Sep 1, then on every check from Sep 21 to at least Oct 11, our last check, three or more Jackery units were at least 5% below their usual price. On Oct 8–9 only three kept that going; by noon PT on Oct 10 it was back up to seven. Its sale page read “Prime Big Deal Days Early Access: Up to 65% Off” from Sep 21.
  • BLUETTI: three or more units were at least 5% below usual on every check from Sep 7, when our reading of its checkout prices began, through Oct 7. Its pages ran “Early Fall Prime Power Sale” from Sep 24, then “Fall Prime Deals Encore”, dated Oct. 8–19 (PDT).

How long did EcoFlow’s Prime Day sale last?

Its deepest prices lasted about two days, inside a 21-day “Prime” promotion that ran from Sep 20 to Oct 10 with repeated countdowns: “48 Hours Only” late on Oct 4 and “72 Hours Only” on Oct 8.

But on 8 of the 10 units it had cut at least 5% below their usual price, the price was back up by midday Oct 8. The page kept two of them, the DELTA Pro Ultra and DELTA Pro, at sale prices a little longer.

23 real deals

Which power stations were actually cheaper than usual?

Of the 23 real deals, these five cut the deepest and still count if you measure against the single price each unit was in stock at longest since July 8 (Sep 7 for BLUETTI):

  1. 1−22.1%BLUETTI Pioneer Na: $700, 22.1% below its usual $899. The lowest we’ve recorded since mid-July. Still $700 at our last check.
  2. 2−18.2%Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus: $1,554, 18.2% below its usual $1,899. The lowest we’ve recorded since mid-July. The store’s badge read “21% OFF”; its own crossed-out $1,899 makes it 18%. Against the $1,709 it sold for from Sep 21 until the sale, the cut was 9%. Jackery called it “the deepest discount of the year on the HomePower 3600 Plus”, and our records since mid-July agree.
  3. 3−14.3%EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra: $1,199, 14.3% below its usual $1,399. The lowest we’ve recorded since mid-July.
  4. 4−12.7%EcoFlow DELTA 3: $549, 12.7% below its usual $629. That price is from the archived sale page; our check read $564.
  5. 5−11.1%EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max: $799, 11.1% below its usual $899. The lowest we’ve recorded since mid-July.

The Jackery HomePower 1000 v2 is left out: it was $514 (11.2% below its usual $579) for most of the event, just past the DELTA 3 Max, and only one color version reached $499, at our last check.

Was the DELTA 3 Max’s $799 really its lowest price?

Yes. EcoFlow’s store sold the DELTA 3 Max for $799 from Oct 6 until midday Oct 8, the lowest price we’ve recorded since mid-July (the previous low was $829). Then it went back to $879. The same week, Prime members were offered about $799 on Amazon, while shoppers without Prime saw about $879, according to Keepa’s price history (read Oct 11) for the listing sold by EcoFlow Inc.

9 at or near usual

Which Prime Day deals were just the usual price?

Nine sales were at or within 5% of the usual price: six at exactly the usual price and three slightly below it. The biggest claim in this group, 43.8% off the BLUETTI AC200L, was made on its usual price of $899.

Five showed the same price under the same crossed-out price at every in-stock check in the month before the sale: the BLUETTI AC200L, DJI Power 2000, DJI Power 500, EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 and Goal Zero Sherpa 100AC. Four of those prices had not moved since at least Aug 22. The AC200L’s had not moved since Sep 7, when we began reading BLUETTI’s checkout prices.

Each unit’s price on Oct 6–7, then the store’s crossed-out price, struck through: both unchanged at every in-stock check in the month before the sale. Product photos: the makers.

3 cost more

Which ones cost more during the sale?

Three were priced above their usual price on Oct 6–7, under a crossed-out price that said otherwise.

Why did the RIVER 3 Plus cost more on Prime Day?

EcoFlow’s RIVER 3 Plus sold for $259 in July and early August. It was briefly $279, under a crossed-out $299, on Sep 1–8. From midday Sep 8 it was $299, with no discount shown. On Oct 6–7 EcoFlow’s store offered it at $279, labeled “SAVE $20”, which is $20 more than its summer price. On Oct 8, after Amazon’s event ended, it dropped to $259, now labeled “SAVE $40”. Keepa’s price history, read Oct 11, shows Prime members were offered it on Amazon for about $246 during the event; that listing is sold by ECOFLOW Direct.

All three rest on the price each held over the summer, not the higher price it carried in September: our usual price does not follow a recent change straight away. The BLUETTI Elite 30 V2’s summer price comes from checks before we began reading BLUETTI’s checkout price, so its label is the least certain of the three.

For Prime members, it was cheaper or the same.

In Keepa’s price history, read Oct 11, all 15 Amazon listings we tracked with a Prime-only price were offered to members 5% to 12% below their pre-sale price. The brand itself sells 16 of the 21 listings we tracked, Amazon.com sells 4, and one showed no seller in the Buy Box.

Amazon was lower for members on 10 of the 13, by $2 to $75. It matched the store on the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max, Anker C2000 Gen 2 and Anker F3000. Members vs store: Amazon’s member price minus the store’s (−$15 is $15 lower on Amazon).

How we read Amazon prices

Amazon prices are from Keepa’s price history for each listing, read Oct 11 twice, independently; the two readings agreed to the dollar; “about” means whole dollars. Prime members: the lowest Prime-exclusive price on Oct 6–7 PT. Without Prime: the listing’s price over the same days, as Keepa recorded it. Outdoor Life and PopSci printed the same member prices for 10 of these listings.

Store: the lowest price a signed-out visitor saw on the brand’s own US store on Oct 6–7, from our 12-hour checks unless noted. Member-only store prices are not included. Shown: every listing with a Prime-only price whose store price we could read.

Why did some Amazon listings show two very different prices?

On four Anker listings, Prime members were offered far less than everyone else. Keepa’s price history, read Oct 11, shows the C2000 Gen 2 at about $1,500 without Prime during the event, its Amazon List Price, while members were offered about $850. All four listings are sold by AnkerDirect:

What we can’t say: who set those prices, or whether anyone paid them. Keepa records the price a listing showed, not sales. Most of those non-member levels equal a List Price or a price the unit carried in September.

Did Anker raise its prices before Prime Day?

Yes, on its own store. On Sep 27 Anker’s own store raised the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 and the F3000 to the List Prices shown on their Amazon listings, then applied automatic discount codes that showed savings against the new prices. On Oct 6–7 the codes brought them to the same prices Prime members were offered on Amazon, 15% and 13% below what the units had cost all summer.

Its store raised five other units by 10% or more in September and held the new price into the event. The largest in percentage terms: the SOLIX S2000, up 43%, from $699.99 to $999.99 on Sep 23. Its code price on Oct 7 was $649.99, 7% below where it started.

What to do now

Should I buy now or wait for Black Friday?

Wait for Black Friday on Nov 27, unless you want one of these three: on Oct 11 each was still well below the price it usually sells for.

A unit makes this list only if its price on Oct 11 was at least 5% below both its usual price and the price it was in stock at longest since July 8 (Sep 7 for BLUETTI). Six more were below their usual price on Oct 11 but not below the price each was in stock at longest, so they are left off: the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus, Jackery Explorer 1500 v2, Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra, Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus, BLUETTI Apex 300 and Jackery Explorer 1000 v2.

Prices go up after a sale, too. On Oct 8–9, Jackery’s store priced five units above their usual price, including the Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus at $3,499 (usually $3,149). All five were back by Oct 11.

Black Friday is Nov 27. We’ll run this same check after it, with results Dec 1–3. Until then, see today’s prices for these units.

Store links go to the brands’ own stores. Some earn us a commission at no extra cost to you; it never changes a verdict. How we make money.

Side by side

Deciding between two that were on sale?

Both units in each of these comparisons were marked down on Oct 6–7.

Method

How did we decide what counts as a deal?

A sale counts as a real deal when it was at least 5% below the unit’s usual price on the brand’s own store. We check the prices of 76 power stations every 12 hours, at midnight and noon Pacific, and have since July: 74 on the brands’ own US stores and two on resellers’. Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ran Oct 6–7, which gave us four checks of each unit.

  • Marked down: shown under a crossed-out price, or at least 5% below its usual price, on Oct 6–7.
  • Sale price: the lowest in-stock price we saw on those checks. Where the brand’s archived sale page showed a lower price, we used it and say so on the row. Two of the 23 real deals would not count without it.
  • Usual price: the price it sold for on the most days in the 90 days before the sale, set on Oct 4. It is the “usually” price our product pages print. It follows a new price, up or down, only once that price has held for a while.
  • Claimed: the saving the store showed, from its crossed-out price to the sale price.
  • How we label each sale: “Real deal” is at least 5% below the usual price. “Same as usual” is within $1 of it. “Slightly below” is in between. “Cost more” is more than $1 over it.
  • Base models only: no bundles, kits, gifts, codes or refurbished units.

What we left out

  1. 127 power stations in our tracker

  2. − 20 (17 retired by the maker, 1 not in our catalog, 2 fridges)

  3. − 15 bundles and kits

  4. − 16 our tracker never read as in stock since mid-July

  5. = 76 tracked

  6. − 13 sold out or unpriced on Oct 6–7

  7. = 63 in stock during the event

  8. − 6 (4 without enough price history for a usual price, 2 tracked on a reseller’s store, not the brand’s)

  9. − 10 Anker units, priced by automatic codes our tracker does not read

  10. − 12 in stock but not marked down

Prime member prices vs everyone’s

Our store prices are what a signed-out visitor saw; member-only store prices, where they exist, are not included. Amazon prices come from Keepa’s price history for each listing, read twice, independently, on Oct 11; the two readings agreed to the dollar. They are printed as “about” whole dollars. We name each listing’s seller.

How much the usual price matters

Our usual price is slow to follow any recent change. Measure instead against the single price each unit was in stock at longest since July 8 (Sep 7 for BLUETTI, when we began reading its checkout prices), and the 35 split into 17 real deals, 12 at the usual price, 4 slightly below and 2 above, with a median saving of 4.8%. Eleven labels would change: Jackery Explorer 1500 v2, Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra, BLUETTI Apex 300, Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus, Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, BLUETTI Elite 300, BLUETTI Elite 200 V2, BLUETTI Elite 100 V2, BLUETTI Elite 30 V2, EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus and Jackery Explorer 300D. Eight of those would look less like a deal, because the unit was in stock longest at a price below its usual price; three would look more like one.

Reader questions

Questions shoppers asked

Are Prime Day power station deals real?

Mostly, but smaller than advertised. Of 35 we checked on the brands’ own stores, 23 were at least 5% below their usual price, 9 were at or near it and 3 cost more. The median claim was 20% off; the median saving against the usual price was 6.9%.

Is EcoFlow or Jackery cheaper on Amazon or on the brand’s own website?

According to Keepa’s price history (read Oct 11), for Prime members during the event Amazon was about the same or cheaper on EcoFlow’s four, by up to about $33; it was cheaper on all four Jackery listings we could compare, by about $15 to $50. Across all 13 listings we could compare, Amazon was lower on 10, by about $2 to $75.

Do I need Prime to get the Prime Big Deal Days price?

On Amazon, yes, for the Prime-only price: 15 of the 21 listings we tracked had one. On the brands’ own stores, no. Every store price in this story is what a signed-out visitor saw.

Will power stations be cheaper on Black Friday?

Nobody knows yet, but October’s sale prices did not last: EcoFlow’s deepest prices lasted about two days, and by Oct 11 most units were back at their usual price. The exceptions were the BLUETTI Pioneer Na, Jackery Explorer 300 and Jackery HomePower 1000 v2, still well below usual on Oct 11. Black Friday is Nov 27; we’ll publish the same check Dec 1–3.

Why is the crossed-out price so much higher than the selling price?

The crossed-out price is the store’s own reference, not what the unit usually sells for. The BLUETTI AC200L showed a crossed-out $1,599 at every check since at least Sep 7 while selling at $899.

How can I check a power station’s price history?

Every product page on this site prints the unit’s usual price and its lowest price from the same 12-hour checks, dated with the check it was built from. For Amazon listings, Keepa keeps a price chart.
