Corrections and editorial standards

Power Station Arena reports on portable power stations, home batteries and solar. This page explains how we report, how we fix mistakes, how we stay independent of the brands we cover, and how to reach us.
How we report
- We go to the primary source first: the bill text on a legislature's site, government data (NASA, EIA, NREL), and makers' own product pages and manuals. When we rely on another outlet's reporting, we name it.
- Factual claims in a story link to their sources, listed and numbered at the end.
- Numbers we work out ourselves, such as yields, savings, payback and runtimes, are computed in code from named datasets, and each story says how.
- When sources disagree, we print less rather than guess, and we say so where it matters to you.
Corrections
- If we get a fact wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the end of the story saying what was wrong and what it now says.
- Fixes that don't change the meaning, such as a typo or a broken link, are made without a note.
- A story's “Updated” date marks a change in substance, for example when a state's law moves.
Independence
- We earn money through affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure explains how.
- No brand pays for coverage, and no brand reviews or approves our verdicts before they are published.
- When a maker supplies a unit we use, the page says so.
- We keep the embargoes we agree to.
Photos and illustrations
- Photos we take are credited to the person who took them.
- Some stories use illustrations we generate to show what a setup looks like. Each one is labelled “Illustration” in its caption and tagged as generated in the image file.
Who is responsible
- Every story names the person responsible for it, linked to their profile on our team page. About explains who runs the site.
