EcoFlow DELTA 3 or DELTA 3 Classic — which should I buy?
The DELTA 3 Classic for most buyers. The two share the core platform — 1,024Wh, 1,800W, 3,600W surge, a 10ms UPS, 500W solar, a 5-year warranty — and the Classic costs less, with a front-facing port layout reviewers prefer [B4]. Pick the standard DELTA 3 if you plan to add an extra battery (EcoFlow lists expansion for the DELTA 3 and none for the Classic), need the car outlet, or want its 4,000-cycle rating over the Classic's 3,000.
Is the Anker SOLIX S2000 worth the extra money over the EcoFlow DELTA 3?
Yes, for most buyers. $71 more buys nearly double the capacity, 2,010Wh against 1,024Wh, and a pack rated for 10,000 cycles instead of 4,000, which together put it at a fifth of the DELTA 3's cost per lifetime kilowatt-hour. The exceptions are real though. If you need more than 1,500W of continuous output, or you'll be carrying the unit yourself, the DELTA 3 earns its lower price.
Can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 run a microwave or hair dryer the Anker SOLIX S2000 can't?
Yes, but the reason isn't surge. The DELTA 3 is rated for 1,800W continuous against the S2000's 1,500W, and both peak at exactly double their rating, 3,600W and 3,000W, so startup surges are not what separates them. A full-power hair dryer or a large microwave sits above the S2000's continuous ceiling and under the DELTA 3's. Expect roughly half an hour of it: 870Wh usable at 1,800W.
Which one lasts longer, the DELTA 3 or the SOLIX S2000?
The S2000, by a wide margin on paper: 10,000 rated cycles against 4,000, which works out to 27.4 years versus 11 at daily cycling. Because a cycle is not the same size on both units, the fairer measure is lifetime energy, 20,096 kWh against 4,096. Neither pack dies at its rating either; it settles to roughly 80% of original capacity and keeps working.
Does the DELTA 3's expandability make it the better long-term buy?
Not against this rival. The DELTA 3 starts at 1,024Wh, below the S2000's 2,010Wh, so a first expansion battery largely buys back capacity the S2000 already includes. Expansion only becomes an advantage past 2,010Wh. If you're confident you'll get there, buy into the expandable platform; if you're guessing, buy the bigger fixed pack.
