Only if you need the output. The Explorer's 14,400W surge is exactly double the HomePower's 7,200W, enough to start a well pump or central-AC compressor the smaller unit can't. For a standard home-backup load of fridges, lights, and electronics, the HomePower does the same job for $1,250 less.
