Only if your daily draw is close to 4,685Wh or higher, the one scenario tested where the Explorer's 5,040Wh tank runs out (109% needed) and the DPU's 6,144Wh doesn't (90% needed). Below that, the Explorer is both cheaper to buy and cheaper per lifetime kWh ($0.14 against $0.19), so the extra money buys headroom you may never use.
What's the actual difference between the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra and the DELTA Pro Ultra X?
The X roughly doubles the Pro Ultra's specs across the board: 12,288Wh of capacity against 6,144Wh, 12,000W of continuous output against 7,200W, and a 45,000W surge rating against 10,800W. It also costs about double, $7,999 against $3,999, and carries half the warranty — 5 years instead of 10.
Is the DELTA Pro Ultra X worth the extra money?
Only if your home needs the extra continuous power. Both units cost the same $0.19 per lifetime kilowatt-hour, and the Pro Ultra alone clears every everyday load tested for this comparison, including an 8-hour blackout and a full weekend of camping. The X earns its price when the load is a genuine 12,000W whole-home draw or a hard motor start that needs the deeper surge cushion.
Is the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra worth $1,200 more than the Anker SOLIX F3800 Plus?
By lifetime cost, yes: the DPU works out to $0.19 per lifetime kWh against the F3800 Plus's $0.25, because its larger 6,144Wh tank and 500 extra rated cycles deliver more total energy over the years than the price gap suggests. If you only care about the number on the invoice today, the F3800 Plus is $1,200 cheaper.
Is the DELTA Pro Ultra just a bigger version of the RIVER 2 Pro?
Not really. They're different categories that happen to share a brand. The RIVER 2 Pro is a 768Wh, 17.2-lb grab-and-go battery. The DELTA Pro Ultra is a 6,144Wh, 181.8-lb system built to expand toward whole-home backup. Same LiFePO4 chemistry, completely different jobs.
