EcoFlow DELTA 3 or DELTA 3 Classic — which should I buy?
The DELTA 3 Classic for most buyers. The two share the core platform — 1,024Wh, 1,800W, 3,600W surge, a 10ms UPS, 500W solar, a 5-year warranty — and the Classic costs less, with a front-facing port layout reviewers prefer [B4]. Pick the standard DELTA 3 if you plan to add an extra battery (EcoFlow lists expansion for the DELTA 3 and none for the Classic), need the car outlet, or want its 4,000-cycle rating over the Classic's 3,000.
Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus worth $700 more than the DELTA 3 Classic?
Only if your load exceeds about 870 usable watt-hours. An 8-hour blackout (1,645Wh) or a full remote workday (910Wh) both run the Classic dry partway through, while the Max Plus clears both. Below that line — a CPAP overnight (320Wh) or a tailgate afternoon (670Wh) — the Classic already handles it and the extra money buys headroom you won't use.
Can the DELTA 3 Classic run a fridge through an 8-hour power outage?
Not on its own. An 8-hour outage in this model draws about 1,645Wh; the Classic's roughly 870 usable watt-hours (1,024Wh at about 85% usable) run dry around the four-hour mark. The Max Plus's 2,048Wh clears the full 8 hours with about 30 minutes to spare.
Do the DELTA 3 Classic and Max Plus have the same warranty?
Yes, both carry EcoFlow's standard 5-year warranty, so coverage length isn't a differentiator. The real gap is cycle life (3,000 vs 4,000) and what that does to lifetime cost per kWh, not how many years you're covered.
Is the DELTA 3 Classic a good replacement for the DELTA 2?
It is if you never planned to add a battery or use a 12V car socket. It matches the DELTA 2's 1,024Wh, 1,800W continuous output, 3,000-cycle rating and 500W solar input, and adds a 3,600W surge ceiling against 2,700W. It's sealed at 1,024Wh, has no 12V car outlet and has two USB-A ports instead of four, so anyone who relied on those should look at the DELTA 3 instead.
