It's close. The RIVER 3 230 is the newer, more refined unit — 2.5 lbs lighter, much quieter (30dB vs 50dB), IP54 waterproof, and faster on UPS — which reviewers recommend for most, especially camping or van life [B3]. The RIVER 2 holds more capacity (256Wh vs 230), costs $20 less, and is cheaper to own. Buy the RIVER 3 230 for portability and durability; the RIVER 2 for maximum capacity per dollar indoors.
Is the EcoFlow RIVER 3 230 basically a smaller DELTA 3 Classic?
Not really — it's built for a different job. The RIVER 3 230 holds 230Wh and outputs up to 300W, enough for phones, a laptop, or a CPAP, but it can't run anything with a serious startup surge (its ceiling is 600W) and it can't expand later. The DELTA 3 Classic holds 1,024Wh, outputs 1,800W, and can add an expansion battery if you outgrow it. Think of them as different tools, not different sizes of the same tool.
Can the RIVER 3 230 run a CPAP all night?
No. A CPAP overnight needs about 320Wh, and the RIVER 3 230 would need 164% of a full charge to cover it, meaning it taps out partway through the night. The DELTA 3 Classic finishes the night on just 37% of one charge, with room to spare for a fan or a phone.
Is the RIVER 3 230 enough for camping?
