Questions people ask
Is the EcoFlow DELTA 2 discontinued?
Yes. EcoFlow no longer sells the DELTA 2, and its store page now forwards to the DELTA 3, which EcoFlow positions as the like-for-like replacement. The DELTA 3 Classic is a separate, sealed model with the same capacity and continuous output.
Is the DELTA 3 Classic a good replacement for the DELTA 2?
It is if you never planned to add a battery or use a 12V car socket. It matches the DELTA 2's 1,024Wh, 1,800W continuous output, 3,000-cycle rating and 500W solar input, and adds a 3,600W surge ceiling against 2,700W. It's sealed at 1,024Wh, has no 12V car outlet and has two USB-A ports instead of four, so anyone who relied on those should look at the DELTA 3 instead.
Should I upgrade my DELTA 2 to the DELTA 3 Classic?
No. The battery, continuous output and cycle rating are identical, so you'd gain 900W of surge headroom and a faster rated switchover while giving up expansion and the 12V socket. Keep the DELTA 2 unless it's failing or your heaviest appliance won't start on 2,700W.
EcoFlow DELTA 2 or DELTA 3 — which should I buy?
The DELTA 3, easily. It's the newer unit and $280 cheaper ($629 vs $799), with the same 1,024Wh but a higher surge (3,600W vs 2,700W), a faster 10ms UPS (vs 20ms), a much quieter 30dB (vs 50dB), and a lower cost-to-own ($0.17 vs $0.26 per lifetime kWh). Consider the DELTA 2 only if it's on a deep clearance below the DELTA 3's price.
Why is the newer DELTA 3 cheaper than the DELTA 2?
EcoFlow priced the newer generation below the outgoing model, and the DELTA 2's list price stayed high. It's not a downgrade — the DELTA 3 beats the DELTA 2 on surge, UPS speed, and noise while costing $280 less, which is why it's also far cheaper to own. When the newer unit is cheaper and better, there's little reason to buy the old one.
