Spec deltas
The DELTA 3 Classic costs $469 and the DELTA 2 costs $499, and the price is the least interesting thing separating them. Both hold 1,024Wh. Both run an 1,800W inverter, both are rated for 3,000 cycles, both cap solar at 500W, both carry a five-year warranty, both push 100W over USB-C. Six specs, six ties.
Then you reach the three that don't match, and they all fall the same way. 30 dB against 50 dB. 3,600W of surge against 2,700W. A 10ms transfer to battery against 20ms, which is line-interactive against standby in UPS terms. Three differences, one direction, and it's the cheaper box collecting all of them.

Take the DELTA 3 Classic. It matches the DELTA 2 on every spec that decides what you can run and for how long, capacity and continuous output and cycle life and solar input and warranty, then beats it on the three that decide how the thing behaves in your house: it's rated 20 dB quieter, it starts harder loads, and it catches a blackout in half the time. It also costs less, which removes the last reason to think about it. What's actually different between the DELTA 2 and the DELTA 3 Classic?
Three things. The DELTA 3 Classic is rated 30 dB against the DELTA 2's 50 dB, it surges to 3,600W against 2,700W, and it transfers to battery in 10ms against 20ms. Capacity, continuous output, cycle life, solar input, warranty and USB-C output are identical, so those three are the entire decision.
Is the DELTA 3 Classic quiet enough to sleep next to?
Its 30 dB rating is the quietest thing about it, and reviewers testing it hands-on found the fans quieter than they expected at this price. A CPAP night draws 320Wh, roughly a third of what either unit can deliver, so the fan has very little reason to work hard. This is the unit to pick if it lives in the bedroom.
Can either one run a refrigerator through a power outage?
Both will start one, and the DELTA 3 Classic has 900W more surge headroom to do it with. Lasting the outage is the harder question: an eight-hour blackout works out to 1,645Wh of demand, and 1,024Wh of rated capacity doesn't cover it on either unit. Expect to keep the fridge cold for part of the night, not all of it.
Is the DELTA 2 still worth buying?
Only at a lower price than the DELTA 3 Classic. It's a proven design with 18 months of real field use behind it and consistent praise for its charging speed and battery chemistry, and none of that has gone away. But at $499 against $469 you'd be paying more for a louder unit with less surge headroom and a slower transfer.
How long will either of these last?
Both are rated for 3,000 cycles on 1,024Wh, which is 3,072 kWh of energy over the life of the pack. Cycled daily that's about 8.2 years; used on weekends it's 28.8 years, which is well beyond the five-year warranty and beyond any realistic ownership window. Neither unit's lifespan should factor into this choice.
