Newer doesn't mean bigger on this pair. The DELTA 2 Max is the older station, and it holds 2,048Wh to the DELTA 3 Classic's 1,024Wh. It also takes twice the solar and has twice the AC outlets. It costs $1,049 against the Classic's $499, so you pay a little more than double for double.
That extra battery matters on two of the six loads we model. An 8-hour blackout needs 1,645Wh. After the allowance we take off every battery for conversion losses, the Classic covers about half of it. A full remote workday needs 910Wh, and the Classic misses by 40Wh. The DELTA 2 Max finishes both.
The Classic weighs about half as much. It's rated to switch to battery faster when the grid drops, which matters for a desktop computer that hates even a short gap. It is also sealed, so 1,024Wh is what it will always hold.
