The DELTA 2 Max holds exactly twice the DELTA 3's battery, 2,048Wh against 1,024Wh, for $949 against $549, which is not twice the price. Run the math and the DELTA 2 Max comes out as the cheaper unit per watt-hour too, $0.46 against $0.54, a gap that holds up over the full ownership life: $0.15 per lifetime kWh against $0.18.

That's an odd result for the 'newer' model, and it gets odder. The DELTA 3 also accepts half the solar input, 500W against the DELTA 2 Max's 1,000W, so the bigger unit recovers from a blackout faster, not just longer.
