These two hold the same power and weigh the same doing it: 3,072Wh against 3,200Wh, 72.1 lb against 74.96. Same 5-year warranty. Same 10-millisecond cutover when the grid drops. Then you get to the inverter line, and the DELTA 3 Ultra does 3,600W continuous with 7,200W of surge while the Elite 320 does 1,800W and 2,700W. One of these boxes does twice the work of the other. Everything else here is commentary.
The Elite 320 is $1,100 and the DELTA 3 Ultra is $1,399, so the cheaper box saves you $299 on the day. It hands most of that back slowly. The Elite is rated for 3,000 charge cycles and the DELTA for 4,000, and once you spread each price across the energy those cycles actually deliver, the two land in exactly the same place. The cheaper unit isn't the cheaper unit.
So the decision is the inverter, and the honest version is that most people never reach either ceiling. Five of the six household loads we model come out even between these two. So 1,800W isn't a limit for anything on this page. It's a limit for the thing that isn't on this page: the compressor kicking in while the microwave runs, the shop tool, the second space heater someone put on the same strip. Motors pull several times their running draw for the half second they start, and the Elite's headroom disappears fast when two of them decide to start together.

Surge rating is the closest thing to an x-ray of an inverter that a spec sheet will give you. It's the manufacturer admitting how much abuse the electronics will swallow before they trip, and the ratio tells you more than the raw number does: the DELTA is built two-to-one over its continuous rating, the Elite three-to-two. One of those has slack designed into it. The other has had the slack costed out of it.
Now the part that argues against our own pick. Nothing on this page needs that slack. Every scenario we run says both units can start their peak load, so the DELTA's margin is a hedge against a purchase you haven't made yet, not a fix for a problem you have. The cheaper box has fewer charges in it, and that's the whole of this section. A cycle rating is the manufacturer's estimate of how many full charges the pack survives before capacity falls away, and the DELTA is rated for a third more of them than the Elite. Spread each price across the energy those charges deliver and the two units land on the same figure. Sticker price and lifetime price point in opposite directions here, and only one of them is the price you actually pay.
What that's worth depends entirely on how hard you work it, and the two ends are miles apart. Cycle it once a day and the ratings cover about 11 years for the DELTA against 8.2 for the Elite: nearly three extra years, bought for the price difference, which is the best deal on this page if that's your use. Cycle it four weekends a year and you'll be looking at a decade-old battery long before you exhaust either rating, and the whole calculation collapses back into the sticker gap, which you either want to spend or you don't.

What you buy is the ceiling. Neither unit has an expansion port, so 3,072Wh on the DELTA and 3,200Wh on the Elite are permanent numbers rather than starting positions. That's no criticism of either one. A sealed box is one fewer connector, one fewer cable and one fewer thing to corrode in a garage, and both of these are large enough to carry heavy multi-day loads on their own. It does change how you shop, though. On a modular platform you buy small and grow into it. Here, the number on the box is the number you own in year eight.
Which makes the Elite's 128Wh advantage permanent too, and that sounds like it ought to settle something. It doesn't, because no load we model separates them: 4% more capacity buys nothing you can point at. The specs worth locking in for a decade are the ones that are genuinely far apart, and those are continuous output and rated cycles. Both of them run the other way.
Brand Trust
Selected because: Identical 5-year warranties mean the difference isn't the coverage, it's who picks up when you finally need to use it.
Both warranties run 5 years, so what you're choosing is who picks up in year four. EcoFlow has US phone, email and chat support and outcomes that split hard: prepaid return labels and quick swaps on one side, long waits and refurbished units against new claims on the other. It also sells no parts and does no service once the warranty lapses, which makes year six a cliff rather than a slope. BLUETTI's service is the most inconsistent in the category and the company's own biggest liability, email-first, on China business hours, and worst of all through third-party retailers.
Two things follow, and both are actionable. Buy the BLUETTI from BLUETTI, because the third-party claim path is exactly where it comes apart. And on either brand, a retailer with a long return window is worth more than any spec on this page, since it's the only part of the support experience you control. Elsewhere they trade blows honestly enough: BLUETTI's app scores 4.5/5 on both platforms against EcoFlow's 4.6 on iOS and 4.2 on Android, while EcoFlow has the deeper ecosystem if you'll be adding panels and gear later. And since we're recommending the EcoFlow, here's the thing you should hear from us rather than find on your own: the DELTA Max 2000, a different model in the same family, was recalled in October 2025 for overheating after six incidents.

So the premium isn't buying capacity. It's buying an inverter with twice the continuous output and nearly three times the surge, and here's the honest part: nothing on this page needs it. Five of our six scenarios come out dead even, the sixth defeats both units, and every one of them says both inverters can start their peak load. You're buying insurance, not relief, which is why this lands at a seven rather than a nine. So look at everything you own and everything you're likely to own in the next decade. Nearly all of it is with the step-up Ultra Plus, which shares this unit's inverter, capacity, surge rating and case, so what gets said about noise, cutover behaviour and build quality carries across.
