EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus vs EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4Three Times the Battery, No Room to Grow. Buy Big or Start Small?

The DELTA 4 (3000) holds three 3 Pluses' worth of battery and runs twice the load, but it never takes another battery. I'd buy it for a house that loses power, unless the box lives in your car or you'd rather grow a small one a battery at a time.

Gunner’s take

Whole-Home Backup Tester

The DELTA 4 (3000) is three DELTA 3 Pluses of battery in one box, with twice the inverter.

That's 3,072 Wh against 1,024 Wh, and 3,600 W of output against 1,800 WB1B2. What it can't do is grow. It has no port for an extra batteryB6, so the box you buy is the box you keep.

So this page is really about whether you buy big once or start small and add.

Our eight-hour blackout needs 1,645 Wh. The 3 Plus runs out 775 Wh short, and the DELTA 4 (3000) finishes with 966 Wh left. The 3 Plus can take EcoFlow's extra batteries to close that gap, but every one you add leaves its inverter exactly where it was.

Per watt-hour, the big box is the cheaper one.

It's $1,699 against $719, on sale now at EcoFlow's US store and shipping in early DecemberB10. The 3 Plus is already on sale. If you need power before the DELTA 4 (3000) reaches your porch, that alone settles it.

What the Numbers Reveal

Each conclusion stated first — the numbers behind it on one line, the full analysis below.

F1

Capacity

That leftover is more than half of a second night. Outages don't end when the forecast says they will, and the box with charge left at breakfast is the one that lets you wait for the grid instead of choosing between the fridge and the router. The 3 Plus gets you through the evening and leaves the small hours dark.

DELTA 3 Plus: 1,024 Wh, about 870 Wh usableDELTA 4 (3000): 3,072 Wh, about 2,611 Wh usable8-Hour Blackout needs 1,645 Wh

Why it mattersIf you're buying for outages, the 3 Plus on its own isn't the answer and the DELTA 4 (3000) is.

F2

continuous output

The add-later plan buys watt-hours, never watts. A fully grown 3 Plus still tops out at 1,800 W, half of what the sealed box runs from day one. And it costs the 3 Plus plus every battery after it, so if those batteries come to more than the $980 between the two units, buying big once was the cheaper road.

DELTA 4 (3000): no extra-battery portB6DELTA 3 Plus: takes EcoFlow expansion batteriesDELTA 3 Plus: 1,800 W continuous; DELTA 4 (3000): 3,600 WB2

Why it mattersPrice EcoFlow's extra batteries before you treat the 3 Plus as a starting point, and only take that road if you'll outgrow 3,072 Wh.

F3

weight

A tailgate or a CPAP night never touches most of the DELTA 4 (3000)'s battery. What you'd feel is 30.3 lb more from the trunk to the setup spot, and no round 12 V socket for the cooler that plugs into one.

DELTA 3 Plus: 27 lbDELTA 4 (3000): 57.3 lb, a handle at each endB7Tailgate Party needs 670 Wh; the 3 Plus finishes with 200 Wh left12 V car socket: one on the 3 Plus, none on the DELTA 4 (3000)B3

Why it mattersIf the box lives in the car, the 3 Plus is the better tool even though it's the smaller one.

The specific dimensions that decide these two units — everything else is a tie.

Your Life, Your Pick

Selected because: The DELTA 4 (3000) finishes five of our six scenarios and the 3 Plus finishes two. The 3 Plus misses the long ones.

Every long job goes to the DELTA 4 (3000). Weekend Camping needs 2,100 Wh and leaves the 3 Plus 1,230 Wh short. The DELTA 4 (3000) finishes it with 511 Wh to spare, and the blackout splits the same way.

The remote workday is the near miss worth knowing. The 3 Plus needs 910 Wh there and has 870 Wh usable, a 40 Wh gap. Unplug one small load for part of the day and it finishes. A CPAP night and a tailgate fit in both, and on those I'd rather carry the 3 Plus.

Growth Path

Selected because: 1,024 Wh that can grow against 3,072 Wh that never will.

Expansion is the 3 Plus's one real answer, and it only answers half the question. It takes EcoFlow's extra batteries, and it needs two more 3 Pluses' worth of them to hold what the DELTA 4 (3000) ships with. Batteries add watt-hours. They don't add watts, so a fully grown 3 Plus still tops out at 1,800 W.

Past 3,072 Wh, the 3 Plus is the only one of the two that keeps going. The DELTA 4 (3000) has no battery port at all; EcoFlow saves that for the bigger DELTA 4B6. I'd price the extra batteries before picking the 3 Plus as a starting point. If they add up to more than the $980 between the two, the sealed box was the cheaper way to the same battery.

Portability & Form Factor

Selected because: 27 lb against 57.3 lb, and only the small one keeps a 12 V car socket.

weight

The 3 Plus goes where you go. At 27 lb it's a one-hand lift onto a back seat. The DELTA 4 (3000) is 57.3 lb with a handle at each endB7, a two-hand lift I'd make from the truck bed to the porch and no further. EcoFlow sells a folding cart for it separatelyB7.

Only the 3 Plus keeps a 12 V car socket. That's the round port a 12 V cooler or a tire inflator plugs into, and the DELTA 4 (3000) has noneB3. If your camping kit runs on one, the bigger box has nowhere to plug it.

What the Specs Don't Tell You

Selected because: A sealed battery, 6,000 cycles against 4,000, and a wall charger worth checking against your breaker.

rated cycles

The sealed battery is the honest catch on my pick. For a fridge, a router and lights through one night, 3,072 Wh is plenty. If you already know your needs are about to grow, that's the reason to pause and look at the 3 Plus or the bigger DELTA 4.

Its fastest wall charge wants a whole household circuit. EcoFlow rates X-Stream charging at up to 1,800 W, which is 15 A at 120 V, the full rating of an ordinary 15 A circuitB4. If that outlet shares a breaker with the fridge, I'd turn the charge rate down in the EcoFlow app before the breaker does it for meB4.

Conclusion

November 4, 2026

Verdict: the DELTA 3000 Gen4, on Power Score margin

I'd buy the DELTA 4 (3000) for a house that loses power, and the 3 Plus for a car. It holds three times the battery, runs 3,600 W against 1,800 WB2, and at $1,699 against $719 it still costs less for every watt-hour it holds. It finishes the blackout, the camping weekend and the remote workday that the 3 Plus can't. The price of all that is 57.3 lb against 27 and a battery sealed at 3,072 Wh for goodB6. It ships in early DecemberB10, so if you need power sooner, or the box rides in your car, the 3 Plus is the better buy.

Class ranking (the star rating)

Each unit's star score is a category ranking, not customer reviews — no buyer opinions feed it. We score every station on size-independent quality (value, output, portability, endurance, ports, warranty, and more), then percentile-rank it against the other units in its capacity class, so a class-leading compact unit and a class-leading whole-home unit can both earn 5★. Here, DELTA 3 Plus rates 4.3/5 (62nd percentile of 27 Everyday-class units), and DELTA 3000 Gen4 rates 4.8/5 (86th percentile of 29 Large-class units).

Test Notes & Caveats

Hidden gotchas and advantages we spotted that you won't find on the product page.

[NOTE]

Done Growing at 3,072 Wh

The DELTA 4 (3000) holds 3,072 Wh and has no way to add more. The 3 Plus starts at 1,024 Wh and takes extra batteries, so it only pulls ahead once you'd want more than 3,072 Wh, and even then it runs half the load.

[NOTE]

Warranty: No Difference

Both units carry the same 5-year warranty, so coverage isn't a tiebreaker here. Both figures are maximums rather than guarantees — they depend on registering the unit in the EcoFlow app, which adds two years to a three-year standard term. Worth saying because the per-dollar framing can suggest otherwise: the DELTA 3 Plus works out at 7 years of cover per $1,000 spent against the DELTA 3000 Gen4's 2.9, but that spread is the price gap, not the terms.

[NOTE]

Battery Lifespan in Real Years

The DELTA 3000 Gen4 is rated for 6,000 cycles vs 4,000. In real life: at daily use, that's 16.4 vs 11 years. At weekend use (twice a week), it's 58 vs 38 years. One caution reading years across different sizes: a cycle is 3,072Wh on the DELTA 3000 Gen4 and 1,024Wh on the DELTA 3 Plus, so count lifetime energy — roughly 18,432 kWh against 4,096 kWh over the rated life. After hitting the cycle limit, the battery doesn't die — it drops to ~80% of original capacity, which is still very usable.

Analyst note

The DELTA 3 Plus is cheaper to buy, but the DELTA 3000 Gen4 is cheaper to own. At $0.09/kWh over its lifetime vs $0.18/kWh, the DELTA 3000 Gen4's higher cycle life and capacity make each dollar go further over the years.

DELTA 3 Plus

EXPANDABLE

Supports EcoFlow expansion batteries, so you can add capacity later without replacing the base unit — useful if your needs may climb past 1,024Wh.

Accepts up to 1,000W of solar. Enough for a serious multi-panel array.

Generous port selection supports complex multi-device setups.

Expansion batteries are EcoFlow-specific. You're investing in the EcoFlow ecosystem.

DELTA 3000 Gen4

FIXED CAPACITY

Fixed at 3,072Wh — a sealed, complete system rather than a starting point. There's no expansion port, so that figure is the ceiling: check it against your longest unplugged stretch before you buy.

Accepts up to 1,000W of solar. Enough for a serious multi-panel array.

Adequate ports for most setups, but heavy users may want a power strip.

DELTA 3 PlusDELTA 3000 Gen4

Analyst note

Don't read the DELTA 3 Plus's expandability as a straight win here: it starts at 1,024Wh, below the DELTA 3000 Gen4's 3,072Wh, so a first expansion battery largely buys back capacity the DELTA 3000 Gen4 already includes. It only pulls ahead if you'd grow past 3,072Wh — short of that, the DELTA 3000 Gen4's larger fixed capacity is the simpler value.

What Owners Report

Patterns from published owner reports and long-term reviews — every claim cited to its source below.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus

Reviewers like how fast the 3 Plus recharges and how quickly it switches over. Coverage praises its recharge speed and a switchover under 10 ms when the grid dropsA3. The complaint that keeps coming back is the fans, which start at light loads and cycle on and offA1A2.

Reviewers think a firmware update could fix thatA4. Until one does, I'd listen to a 3 Plus at a light load before it goes beside a bedA1.

“Otherwise well-designed, with very fast recharge times and a seamless sub-10ms UPS switchover for uninterrupted power.”

EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4

Nobody owns a DELTA 4 (3000) yet. It went on sale at EcoFlow's US store on launch day and ships in early December, so everything here is EcoFlow's own spec page plus our arithmeticB1B4B10.

I'd want to plug one into a kitchen outlet that shares a breaker with the fridge, leave the charge rate at full, and see whether EcoFlow's charger backs off before the breaker doesB4. That's the test that tells you where it can live in a real house.

“Capacity 3,072 Wh, LFP (LiFePO4) cells. EcoFlow sells it as the DELTA 3000 Gen4; buyers and the press call the pair the DELTA 4.”

  • The DELTA 3 Plus's headline weakness is fan behavior — fans run even at low load and cycle erratically, undercutting its quiet-UPS marketing. [DELTA 3 Plus · 3 entries]

“Marketed as near-silent, but real-world fan performance is a significant flaw: the fans activate even under low loads and cycle on and off erratically, which limits its effectiveness as a quiet UPS.”

“AC input 100–120 V, 15 A, 50/60 Hz; X-Stream charging up to 1,800 W from a US wall outlet. Our arithmetic: 1,800 W at 120 V is 15 A, the full rating of an ordinary 15 A circuit, so on a shared circuit you would set the charge rate lower in the EcoFlow app.”

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the DELTA 3 Plus if you…

  • →It rides in your car. 27 lb against 57.3, and a CPAP night or a tailgate fits with room left.
  • →You need power sooner. The DELTA 4 (3000) ships in early DecemberB10; the 3 Plus is on sale now at $719.
  • →You'd rather grow it a battery at a time. The 3 Plus takes EcoFlow's extra batteries; the DELTA 4 (3000) never willB6.
  • →Your cooler plugs into a 12 V car socket. The 3 Plus has one and the DELTA 4 (3000) has noneB3.

Buy the DELTA 3000 Gen4 if you…

  • →You want one box for a whole outage night. It finishes our 1,645 Wh blackout with 966 Wh left.
  • →Several things in the house run at once. 3,600 W continuous and a 7,200 W surge, against 1,800 W and 3,600 WB2.
  • →You'll never need more than 3,072 Wh. Then a sealed battery costs you nothing.
  • →You'll cycle it hard. EcoFlow rates it for 6,000 cycles against the 3 Plus's 4,000.

If neither fits

If your days look like Van Life Daily at 4,685 Wh, close this tab. The DELTA 4 (3000) comes up 2,074 Wh short and can't grow, and the 3 Plus would need a stack of extra batteries. Look at a station that starts bigger and still expands, like the bigger DELTA 4B6 or the DELTA Pro 3.

08

The Bottom Line

For a house that loses power, I'd buy the DELTA 4 (3000). It holds exactly three times the battery, runs twice the load, finishes the blackout the 3 Plus can't, and costs less per watt-hour doing it.

For a car, a campsite, or power before it ships, buy the 3 Plus. It's less than half the weight, it keeps the 12 V socket, and it can grow a battery at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers drawn from the spec record and cited owner research.

How much does the EcoFlow DELTA 4 (3000) cost in the US?

EcoFlow lists it at $1,699 on its US store, where it went on sale on November 4, 2026 and ships in early December. The DELTA 3 Plus is $719.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA 4 (3000)?

No. It has no extra-battery port, so 3,072 Wh is all it will ever hold. The DELTA 3 Plus takes EcoFlow's extra batteries.

Can the DELTA 3 Plus run the same appliances as the DELTA 4 (3000)?

Not the big ones together. The DELTA 3 Plus runs 1,800 W continuous with a 3,600 W surge, and the DELTA 4 (3000) runs 3,600 W with a 7,200 W surge. Adding extra batteries to the 3 Plus makes it last longer but doesn't raise its output.

Can the DELTA 3 Plus get through a night without power?

Not our eight-hour blackout on its own. That load needs 1,645 Wh and the DELTA 3 Plus has about 870 Wh usable, so it runs 775 Wh short. The DELTA 4 (3000) finishes it with 966 Wh left.

Which one is lighter?

The DELTA 3 Plus, at 27 lb against 57.3 lb for the DELTA 4 (3000). It also holds a third of the battery.
