Gunner’s take
Whole-Home Backup Tester
EcoFlow put one battery and one inverter in two different boxes.
The DELTA 3 Ultra and the DELTA 4 (3000) both hold 3,072 Wh, and both run 3,600 W with a 7,200 W surgeB2. The DELTA 4 (3000) weighs 57.3 lb against 72.1 lb. That's 14.8 lb less to lift for exactly the same job.
The newer box costs more, and you'll wait for it.
EcoFlow lists the DELTA 4 (3000) at $1,699 and says it ships in early DecemberB10. The Ultra sells for $1,399 today. The $300 difference buys three things: less weight, a 6,000-cycle rating against 4,000, and 1,000 W of solar against 800 W.
For a house, I'd buy the Ultra.
A home backup box comes out a few times a year, sits by the fridge and never gets near its 4,000th cycle. The Ultra also keeps a 12 V car socket and an RV-shaped 30 A outlet, where the DELTA 4 (3000) has no car socket and a twist-lockB3. If you carry it every weekend or drain it every day, the math turns, and the rest of this page shows where.
What the Numbers Reveal
Each conclusion stated first — the numbers behind it on one line, the full analysis below.
weight
57.3 lb is a lift one adult manages from a car to a porch. 72.1 lb is where I start looking for a second pair of hands or a ramp. For a box that lives beside the fridge, you feel that difference once, on delivery day. For a box that goes to the campsite, you feel it every trip.
DELTA 3 Ultra: 3,072 Wh at 72.1 lbDELTA 4 (3000): 3,072 Wh at 57.3 lb, with a handle at each endB7EcoFlow sells a folding cart for the DELTA 4 (3000) separatelyB7
Why it mattersIf it travels, the DELTA 4 (3000) earns part of its premium. If it parks, it earns none.
rated cycles
That only pays if you spend the cycles. Eleven years of daily cycling is an off-grid cabin or a van that drains it every night. A house that loses power a handful of times a year will never get near either rating, so the higher one is a number you paid for and never use.
DELTA 3 Ultra: rated for 4,000 cycles, 12,288 kWh over its lifeDELTA 4 (3000): rated for 6,000 cycles, 18,432 kWh over its lifeAt one full cycle a day: 11 years against 16.4 years
Why it mattersIf you'll cycle it daily, the DELTA 4 (3000)'s rating is worth buying. If it's storm insurance, it isn't.
A 12 V fridge plugs straight into the Ultra, and a camper's 30 A shore cord fits its outlet. The twist-lock takes a different plug. On the DELTA 4 (3000), the full 1,800 W charge draws all 15 A a standard household circuit is rated forB4, so on a kitchen circuit shared with a toaster I'd turn it down in the app before something trips.
DELTA 3 Ultra: one 12 V car socket and a 30 A RV outletDELTA 4 (3000): no car socket, and its 30 A outlet is a three-slot twist-lockB3DELTA 4 (3000): up to 1,800 W from the wall, 15 A at 120 V by EcoFlow's rating and our arithmeticB4
Why it mattersFor a van or an RV, the Ultra. For fast top-ups from a dedicated circuit, the DELTA 4 (3000).
The specific dimensions that decide these two units — everything else is a tie.
Portability & Form Factor
Selected because: One battery, two weights: 72.1 lb against 57.3 lb for the same 3,072Wh.
weight
The Ultra is the one you plan a route for. At 72.1 lb, getting it up porch steps is a job for two people or a ramp. The DELTA 4 (3000) is 57.3 lb with a handle at each end, and EcoFlow sells a folding cart for it separatelyB7.
I'd lift the lighter one into a truck bed alone. I wire houses for a living, so I carry awkward things most days. The gap between these two is the difference between one trip and asking for help.
Lifetime Value
Selected because: Rated for 4,000 cycles against 6,000, which only matters if you spend them.
cost / lifetime kWh
This is where the DELTA 4 (3000) makes its best case. It's rated for 6,000 cycles against 4,000, a cycle being one full drain and refill. Spread over that life it costs $0.09 per kWh against the Ultra's $0.11, so the pricier box is the cheaper one to own if you work it hard.
Storm insurance never cashes that in. At one cycle a day, the Ultra's rating lasts 11 years. A box that comes out for a few outages a year won't get anywhere near it, and then the sticker is the number that counts.
What the Specs Don't Tell You
Selected because: The Ultra keeps a 12 V car socket and an RV outlet; both switch over within 10 ms.
rated cycles
The Ultra keeps the sockets a vehicle already uses. It has a 12 V car socket for a car fridge and a 30 A RV outlet for a camper's shore cord. The DELTA 4 (3000) has neither shape: no car socket, and a three-slot twist-lock for its 30 A outletB3.
Both switch over fast enough for a router. Each is rated to take over within 10 ms when the grid drops. A reviewer of the Ultra Plus, which shares the Ultra's inverter, pulled the wall plug mid-task and saw no dipsA6. EcoFlow's FAQ says the DELTA 4 (3000) doesn't support HID, the USB link a computer uses to shut itself down on batteryB8.
Your Life, Your Pick
Selected because: Identical batteries land every scenario identically, and Van Life Daily is short on both.
Same battery, same results. The eight-hour blackout leaves both with 966 Wh. Camping, a CPAP night, a remote workday and a tailgate all fit with room left on either.
Van Life Daily beats both, and neither can grow to meet it. It asks for 4,685 Wh and each comes up 2,074 Wh short. Neither takes an extra batteryB6, so that day needs a different kind of station.

Conclusion
November 4, 2026
Verdict: the DELTA 3 Ultra
I'd buy the DELTA 3 Ultra, unless you'll carry it often or drain it daily. It holds the same 3,072 Wh as the DELTA 4 (3000) and runs the same 3,600 W with the same 7,200 W surgeB2, for $300 less, and it's on sale now with a 12 V car socket the newer box doesn't haveB3. The DELTA 4 (3000) answers with 57.3 lb against 72.1 lb, 6,000 cycles against 4,000 and 1,000 W of solar against 800 W, and it ships in early DecemberB10. If a sale closes most of the gap between them, the lighter box becomes the easy pick.
Today the DELTA 3 Ultra is $1,299, $100 under its typical $1,399. The verdict weighs typical prices, not today's. Prices checked 32 days ago.

Each unit's star score is a category ranking, not customer reviews — no buyer opinions feed it. We score every station on size-independent quality (value, output, portability, endurance, ports, warranty, and more), then percentile-rank it against the other units in its capacity class, so a class-leading compact unit and a class-leading whole-home unit can both earn 5★. Here, DELTA 3 Ultra rates 4.6/5 (79th percentile of 29 Large-class units), and DELTA 3000 Gen4 rates 4.8/5 (86th percentile of 29 Large-class units).

Hidden gotchas and advantages we spotted that you won't find on the product page.
One Battery, Two Weights
The DELTA 3 Ultra weighs 72.1 lb and the DELTA 4 (3000) 57.3 lb, for exactly the same 3,072 Wh. Neither is a one-hand carry. The lighter one is the box one person lifts into a car.
Warranty: No Difference
Both units carry the same 5-year warranty, so coverage isn't a tiebreaker here. Both figures are maximums rather than guarantees — they depend on registering the unit in the EcoFlow app, which adds two years to a three-year standard term.
More Cycles Than a House Will Use
The DELTA 4 (3000) is rated for 6,000 cycles against 4,000. At one cycle a day that's 16.4 years against 11. A backup box that comes out a few times a year won't reach either rating.

Analyst note
The DELTA 3 Ultra is cheaper to buy, but the DELTA 3000 Gen4 is cheaper to own. At $0.09/kWh over its lifetime vs $0.11/kWh, the DELTA 3000 Gen4's higher cycle life and capacity make each dollar go further over the years.
Growth path
DELTA 3 Ultra
FIXED CAPACITYFixed at 3,072Wh — a sealed, complete system rather than a starting point. There's no expansion port, so that figure is the ceiling: check it against your longest unplugged stretch before you buy.
Accepts up to 800W of solar. Suitable for a 1-2 panel setup.
Adequate ports for most setups, but heavy users may want a power strip.
DELTA 3000 Gen4
FIXED CAPACITYFixed at 3,072Wh — a sealed, complete system rather than a starting point. There's no expansion port, so that figure is the ceiling: check it against your longest unplugged stretch before you buy.
Accepts up to 1,000W of solar. Enough for a serious multi-panel array.
Adequate ports for most setups, but heavy users may want a power strip.
Realistic full solar rechargeat 70% of rated panel output — see methodology
Analyst note
Neither expands, and that's no knock on either — each is a complete unit at a fixed size. They hold the same 3,072Wh, so capacity can't break the tie: decide on price, weight, and the rest, and know that whichever you pick is the ceiling.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra
Most of the hands-on coverage is of the Ultra Plus. Our research notes it shares the Ultra's battery, inverter and chassis but not its solar input, expansion or weightA0, so I take these as character, not specs. Reviewers found it quiet even at full outputA1A2 and built to take knocksA9.
One reviewer ran a full workday off it. Laptop, desktop workstation and monitors for eight hours, and it finished with 40% leftA8. Another review found the unit cuts its 30 A port first when overloadedA3, which is worth knowing if that's where your camper plugs in.
“Even when you're pushing it hard, the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus runs much quieter than older EcoFlow models, like the DELTA 2 Max.”

EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4
Nobody owns one yet. The DELTA 4 (3000) went on sale in the US on November 4 and ships in early DecemberB10, so everything here comes from EcoFlow's US store page and our arithmetic on itB1B4.
I'd want to test the wall charging on a real kitchen circuit. EcoFlow rates it at 1,800 W, which takes the whole 15 A a standard circuit is built forB4. I'd plug it in beside a running fridge and see whether the breaker or the app gives first.
“Capacity 3,072 Wh, LFP (LiFePO4) cells. EcoFlow sells it as the DELTA 3000 Gen4; buyers and the press call the pair the DELTA 4.”

If your day looks like Van Life Daily, skip both. Each covers about 56% of its 4,685 Wh, and neither has a battery portB6. Look at a station that takes extra batteries.
The Bottom Line
For a house, I'd buy the DELTA 3 Ultra. The same battery and the same inverter for $300 less, and you can have it before the next storm.
Pay for the DELTA 4 (3000) if you'll carry it or cycle it hard. It's 14.8 lb lighter and rated to outlast the Ultra, and both of those are worth money only if you use them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers drawn from the spec record and cited owner research.
Is the DELTA 4 (3000) worth the extra money over the DELTA 3 Ultra?
For home backup, no. Both hold 3,072 Wh and run 3,600 W with a 7,200 W surge. The extra $300 buys a box that weighs 57.3 lb against 72.1 lb, a 6,000-cycle rating against 4,000, and 1,000 W of solar against 800 W. That's worth paying for if you carry it often or drain it daily.
How much does the DELTA 4 (3000) cost?
EcoFlow lists it at $1,699 in the US and says it ships in early December. The DELTA 3 Ultra sells for $1,399 and is on sale now.
Does the DELTA 4 (3000) have more power than the DELTA 3 Ultra?
No. Both run 3,600 W continuously and surge to 7,200 W. The DELTA 4 (3000) charges at up to 1,800 W from the wall.
Which one has a car socket or an RV outlet?
The DELTA 3 Ultra has both: a 12 V car socket and a 30 A RV outlet. The DELTA 4 (3000) has no car socket, and its 30 A outlet is a three-slot twist-lock.
Can either one add an extra battery?
No. Both are fixed at 3,072 Wh, and the DELTA 4 (3000) has no battery port. If you want to add batteries later, look at a station built for it.
