The smaller station has the bigger solar port. The DELTA 3 Plus takes 1,000W of panel. The DELTA 3 Max, which holds twice as much, takes 500W.
Most of the rest runs the way you'd expect. The Max stores 2,048Wh. Its inverter, the part that turns battery power into wall-socket power, runs 600W stronger. You pay $180 more for that and take on a two-hand lift. The Max also can't add batteries, and the Plus can.
In Truckee in December, a panel gets a few strong hours a day. In that window, a port that takes a lot of panel earns its keep. On the grey days in between, no port size helps, and the bigger tank does.
