It is BLUETTI's own rating rather than a reading on a shared bench — makers differ on whether they quote a best case or a figure under load, so treat it as a starting point rather than what you would hear at a bedside. For most people, fan noise around 45dB and up is where sleep starts to suffer.
Same Ceiling, Different Floor
The Yeti's inverter carries double its continuous rating on startup: 500W all day, 1,000W for the second a compressor kicks in. That's genuine margin and a fair point in Goal Zero's favor. Just know where it lands. The AC50B surges to the same 1,000W and simply starts from a higher floor, so both units hit an identical ceiling and only one of them can still hold 700W once the motor is spinning.
What Five Years Actually Costs
