What's the actual difference between the Anker SOLIX F3800 and F3800 PLUS?
Solar input, full stop. Both are 3,840Wh with a 6,000W inverter, 9,000W surge, 3,000 cycles, a 5-year warranty, and the same 132.3 lbs, with identical runtimes. The Plus costs $500 more and raises solar input from 2,400W to 3,200W, which reviewers say also lets it take standard MC4 panels the base struggles with [B11].
Is the Anker SOLIX F3800 just a bigger F2000, or a different tier of unit?
Mostly bigger, not proportionally. You get 3,840Wh against 2,048Wh, 1.875x the battery, for $1,999.99 against $899.99, which is 2.2x the price. It also steps up continuous output (6,000W vs 2,400W) and surge headroom (a 1.5x cushion over its own rating, against the F2000's 1.17x), so it's a real capability jump, just not a proportional dollar-for-watt-hour one.
Is the Anker SOLIX F3800 worth $700 more than the DJI Power 2000?
If your loads genuinely need the extra room, yes. The F3800 clears four of six real-world scenarios we tested that leave the Power 2000 short, including a full weekend camping load where it uses 64% of capacity against 121% for the Power 2000. If your typical draw is closer to a CPAP overnight or a tailgate party, both units handle it comfortably, and the Power 2000's lower price is harder to argue with.
