EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 vs Anker SOLIX S5000

The S5000 brings more battery, less weight and a longer cycle rating for less money, so the DELTA Pro 3 has to win on charging speed, a 12V outlet and a deeper expansion ceiling, and for a solar-first home those three don't cover the difference.

The SOLIX S5000 holds 5,024Wh, the DELTA Pro 3 holds 4,096Wh, and the bigger battery is the one that costs less: $2,500 against $2,799. It is also the lighter box by 15.4 lb. That is not the usual trade, where you pay for capacity in dollars or in pounds. Here you pay in neither.

The Pro 3 is not out of arguments. It refills from several sources at once, up to 7,000W of combined input with 0 to 80% in about 50 minutesA3. It has a 12V car outlet and four USB-A ports where the S5000 has no car outlet and one USB-A. And its expansion path runs toward 48kWhA1, deeper than the five extra packs Anker allows.

None of that outweighs a bigger, longer-rated battery at a lower price for a house that backs up from solar. The one honest reason to pause is evidence: the Pro 3 has been through reviewers' handsA4, and nobody outside Anker has tested the S5000 yetB0.

What the Numbers Reveal

Each conclusion stated first — the numbers behind it on one line, the full analysis below.

F1

cost / lifetime kWh

Put the lower price on top of that and the cost per lifetime kWh falls to under half, $0.08 against $0.17. The catch is where the 6,000 comes from: it is Anker's own ratingB12, while the Pro 3's 4,000-cycle figure is a published minimumA2. Even if the S5000 fell well short of its rating, it would have a long way to fall before the Pro 3 caught it.

DELTA Pro 3: 4,096Wh x 4,000 cycles = 16,384 kWh of rated lifetime energySOLIX S5000: 5,024Wh x 6,000 cycles = 30,144 kWh of rated lifetime energyCost per lifetime kWh: $0.17 for the DELTA Pro 3, $0.08 for the SOLIX S5000

Why it mattersAnyone cycling the battery every day off a solar array should treat this as the deciding number.

F2

solar input

The Pro 3's famous charging speed lives in the multi-source number, which needs wall, solar and more feeding it at once. In a long outage with the grid down, the sun is usually the only source you have, and on that source the two are even while the S5000 ends the refill holding more.

DELTA Pro 3 solar input: 2,600W into 4,096WhSOLIX S5000 solar input: 3,000W across two inputs into 5,024WhB5DELTA Pro 3 multi-charge: up to 7,000W combined input, 0-80% in about 50 minutesA3

Why it mattersSolar-first outage planners shouldn't pay for the Pro 3's charging speed unless they also own a generator or a 240V circuit to feed it.

F3

An unheated garage in a northern January is exactly where the label pushes it and exactly where it can refuse to charge. The 15.4 lb it saves over the Pro 3 helps when you wheel it to a warmer spot, but the right answer is to pick that spot on day one: a basement or utility room inside the heated envelope.

SOLIX S5000: 97 lb, on wheels with a pull rod and foot pedalB11Anker's label rates the S5000 for non-habitable spaces, outside sleeping rooms and living areasB7SOLIX S5000 charges only between 32 and 104 FB18

Why it mattersCold-climate buyers should plan the S5000's home before it arrives, not after the first frost.

The specific dimensions that decide these two units — everything else is a tie.

Lifetime Value

Selected because: The S5000 is rated for 30,144 kWh over its life against the Pro 3's 16,384, which decides more than any single spec.

cost / lifetime kWh

Eight cents a lifetime kilowatt-hour against seventeen. The S5000 is the cheaper box and the longer-lived one, so the per-kWh figure is not a close call that a coupon could reverse.

At one full cycle a day, the ratings work out to 16.4 years for the S5000 and 11 for the Pro 3. Both warranties run 5 years, so neither maker is promising the back half of that. The rating is what you're buying, and the S5000's is Anker's ownB12.

Growth Path

Selected because: Both expand, and the Pro 3's ceiling toward 48kWh is the clearest thing it offers that the S5000 doesn't.

solar input

The Pro 3 has the taller ladder. Its expansion runs toward 48kWhA1; the S5000 stops at five BP5000 packs, 30,144Wh in totalB6. For a house that already knows it wants a wall of batteries, that is a real reason to stay with EcoFlow.

For everyone else the base unit is what matters, and the S5000 starts 928Wh higher. Thirty kilowatt-hours is already a lot of basement.

Portability & Form Factor

Selected because: At 112.4 and 97 lb, both roll rather than carry, and the 15.4 lb between them shows up at every step and curb.

weight

Neither of these goes in a hatchback by yourself. The S5000 tips back onto its wheels with a foot step marked STEP ONB10 and rolls on a pull rodB11; the Pro 3 is the heavier of the two by 15.4 lb, which you feel most on the one stair between the garage and the house.

The engine hands the S5000 the camping and tailgate rows on weight. Treat that as a statement about which box is less awkward to move, not about either being a take-along.

Brand Trust

Selected because: One side has reviewer history and the other has only its maker's documentation, so the brand record carries real weight.

This is the Pro 3's best section. It has reviewer coverageA4 and EcoFlow has the larger community and ecosystem to lean on. The S5000 has a rating label, a product page and UL 9540 certificationB19, which establishes what it is but not how it ages.

If a track record matters more to you than a lower bill, this is where you'd decide for EcoFlow.

Scenario verdicts

We ran the math on six real-world scenarios. Here's which unit survives your actual life.

SCN-01 · 2 nights · needs 2,100Wh

Weekend Camping

Two nights off-grid with essential comfort

SOLIX S5000

The DELTA Pro 3 at 112.4 lbs is not a take-along — it rolls off a truck bed if it travels at all, so this scenario belongs to the SOLIX S5000 by default — and it earns it, covering the 2,100Wh with 2,170Wh to spare. Capacity was never the DELTA Pro 3's problem here; getting to a campsite was.

CPAP Overnight

Sleep therapy without interruption — the #1 medical use case

Either unit

A CPAP is about 40W for eight hours, so both cover the night many times over and the capacity margin is a formality. Both happen to list 30dB — two makers' own figures landing on the same number rather than a measured tie — so there is nothing in the noise column to separate them either. SOLIX S5000

The DELTA Pro 3 at 112.4 lbs is not a take-along — it rolls off a truck bed if it travels at all, so this scenario belongs to the SOLIX S5000 by default — and it earns it, covering the 670Wh with 3,600Wh to spare. Capacity was never the DELTA Pro 3's problem here; getting to a tailgate was.

Van Life Daily

A full day of mobile living — the ultimate endurance test

Neither unit

Neither unit covers this scenario's 4,685Wh: the DELTA Pro 3 comes up 1,203Wh short (about 74% covered), the SOLIX S5000 415Wh (91%) (its nameplate 5,024Wh actually clears this — the flat 15% conversion allowance is what tips it under). Either gets you most of the way, so this is a scenario you plan around rather than one you should rule them out for.

Conclusion

October 9, 2026

Verdict: the SOLIX S5000

Take the SOLIX S5000. It carries 5,024Wh to the DELTA Pro 3's 4,096Wh, a 4,500W inverter to its 4,000W, and a 6,000-cycle rating to its 4,000, while weighing 97 lb against 112.4 and costing $2,500 against $2,799. Every spec that decides a home-backup purchase points the same way. The Pro 3 keeps three real advantages: multi-source charging up to 7,000WA3, a 12V car outlet the S5000 doesn't have, and expansion toward 48kWhA1. The confidence stops at 7 because the S5000's case rests on Anker's own documentationB0 while the Pro 3 has reviewer history behind itA4.

Class ranking (the star rating)

Each unit's star score is a category ranking, not customer reviews — no buyer opinions feed it. We score every station on size-independent quality (value, output, portability, endurance, ports, warranty, and more), then percentile-rank it against the other units in its capacity class, so a class-leading compact unit and a class-leading whole-home unit can both earn 5★. Here, DELTA Pro 3 rates 4.0/5 (42nd percentile of 20 Home Backup-class units), and SOLIX S5000 rates 4.6/5 (74th percentile of 20 Home Backup-class units).

Test Notes & Caveats

Hidden gotchas and advantages we spotted that you won't find on the product page.

[CAUTION]

Weight Reality Check

Neither unit is grab-and-go. The SOLIX S5000 (97 lbs) is manageable solo but heavier than a large checked suitcase. The DELTA Pro 3 (112.4 lbs) is firmly a two-person lift. It goes where you put it and stays there. That's a 15 lb difference.

[NOTE]

Warranty: No Difference

Both units carry the same 5-year warranty, so coverage isn't a tiebreaker here.

[NOTE]

Battery Lifespan in Real Years

The SOLIX S5000 is rated for 6,000 cycles vs 4,000. In real life: at daily use, that's 16.4 vs 11 years. At weekend use (twice a week), it's 58 vs 38 years. After hitting the cycle limit, the battery doesn't die — it drops to ~80% of original capacity, which is still very usable.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the DELTA Pro 3 if you…

  • →You want a battery wall that keeps growing toward 48kWh and don't want to switch brands halfway thereA1.
  • →You own a generator or 240V charging and want the 7,000W combined input to refill between stormsA3.
  • →You run a 12V fridge or other car-socket gear straight off the unit.
  • →You'd rather buy the box reviewers have already put through its pacesA4.

Buy the SOLIX S5000 if you…

  • →You're backing up a house from rooftop or ground-mount solar and will cycle it every day, where the 6,000-cycle rating and lower price compound.
  • →You'll wheel it between a utility room and the driveway a few times a year and want the lighter of two heavy boxes.
  • →You want the most battery for the money in this pair and can live without a 12V car outlet.

If neither fits

If your outages are a few hours of fridge, router and phone charging, both of these are basement furniture you'll never fill. Close the tab and look at a mid-size portable station you can lift with one hand.

The Bottom Line

More battery, more cycles, more inverter, less weight and a smaller bill. The S5000 wins every row that decides a solar-backed home, and the Pro 3's real strengths, multi-source charging, a 12V socket and a taller expansion ceiling, belong to narrower buyers.

The only thing the Pro 3 has that money can't fix is a record. If that's worth the extra to you, buy it with a clear head. Otherwise, roll the S5000 into the utility room and let it do the arithmetic for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers drawn from the spec record and cited owner research.

Is the Anker SOLIX S5000 better than the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3?

On the spec sheet, yes. It holds 5,024Wh to 4,096Wh, rates 6,000 cycles to 4,000, outputs 4,500W to 4,000W and weighs 97 lb to 112.4, at the lower price. What the Pro 3 has that the S5000 lacks is reviewer history and a faster multi-source charge.

Which charges faster, the DELTA Pro 3 or the SOLIX S5000?

The Pro 3, when you can feed it several sources at once: up to 7,000W combined, 0 to 80% in about 50 minutes. Anker rates the S5000 at 4,300W single-unit and quotes a full charge in 99 minutes. From solar alone the gap closes, since 2,600W into 4,096Wh and 3,000W into 5,024Wh both take roughly an hour and a half of full input.

Does the SOLIX S5000 have a 12V car outlet like the DELTA Pro 3?

No. Anker lists four NEMA 5-20R outlets, an L14-30R, a TT-30R and three USB ports, with no 12V car outlet. If you run a 12V fridge or similar gear directly, the Pro 3 is the one with the socket.

Can I keep the SOLIX S5000 in my garage?

Anker's label rates it for non-habitable spaces and keeps it out of sleeping rooms, so a garage is where it's meant to go. Just know it only charges between 32 and 104 F. In an unheated garage in winter, a basement or utility room is the safer home.
