Gunnerβs take
Whole-Home Backup Tester
The DELTA 4 (3800) is the first box of a system, and the Elite 320 is the whole system.
EcoFlow's 3,763 Wh unit has an extra-battery port and two solar inputsA5A6. BLUETTI's 3,200 Wh unit has one solar input and no port, so what you buy is the ceiling.
On paper, the EcoFlow leads almost everywhere.
563 Wh more battery, 3,600 W against 1,800 W, twice the solar input, and 7.5 lb less to lift. The Elite 320 answers with wheels, a car-style 12 V outlet and a price of $1,100.
The bill for all that is $1,099.
The DELTA 4 (3800) lists at $2,199, and EcoFlow says it ships in late NovemberA10. That's far more per watt-hour than the Elite, so the extras have to be things you'll actually use.
What the Numbers Reveal
Each conclusion stated first β the numbers behind it on one line, the full analysis below.
One DELTA 3 Max Plus battery is bigger than the DELTA 4's 1,486 Wh shortfall, even after the same 85% derate the engine appliesA6. The Elite 320's only route to that day is a second Elite 320, inverter and all.
DELTA 4 (3800): a port for up to two extra batteries; the DELTA 3 Max Plus battery holds 2,048 WhA6Elite 320: sealed at 3,200 WhVan Life Daily needs 4,685 Wh: the DELTA 4 (3800) is 1,486 Wh short, the Elite 320 1,965 Wh short
Why it mattersIf your plan could ever pass 3,200 Wh, the Elite is a dead end and the DELTA 4 (3800) isn't.
Capacity
Panels rarely hit their rating, so both take longer in practice, and the ratio holds. Each EcoFlow input takes up to 60 V of open-circuit voltage, the panel's voltage with nothing connected, printed on the back as VocA5. That leaves room for two separate strings of panels, even from different makers.
DELTA 4 (3800): two solar inputs, 11 to 60 V, 1,000 W eachA5Elite 320: 1,000 W of solar inputCapacities: 3,763 Wh and 3,200 Wh
Why it mattersIf you own panels or plan to, the second input is worth more than the extra 563 Wh.
continuous output
The DELTA 4's premium buys output and growth, and both pay only when you spend them. A house that runs a fridge, a router and the lights never touches 1,800 W. For that house the extra money buys headroom nobody uses.
8-Hour Blackout: 1,645 Wh, 60% of the Elite 320's usable batteryElite 320: 1,800 W continuous, 3,600 W surgeDELTA 4 (3800): 3,600 W continuous, 7,200 W surgeA2
Why it mattersBe honest about the plan. If it's one box under 1,800 W, take the Elite.
The specific dimensions that decide these two units β everything else is a tie.
Growth Path
Selected because: One adds EcoFlow's extra batteries. The other stops at 3,200 Wh.
solar input
The DELTA 4 (3800) borrows batteries from EcoFlow's bigger units. Its port takes up to two extra batteries, the DELTA Pro 3's or the DELTA 3 Max Plus's, through EcoFlow's expansion adapterA6. EcoFlow quotes 4 to 12 kWh in allA6. The Elite 320 has no port at all.
Growing costs money on top of the gap. Every extra battery is its own purchase. Budget for at least one now, because a system you never grow is an expensive single box.
Your Life, Your Pick
Selected because: Weekend Camping goes to the DELTA 4 (3800), and Van Life Daily beats both on their own.
The weekend is where the bigger battery shows. Both finish Weekend Camping, but the DELTA 4 (3800) ends it with 1,099 Wh in hand against 620 Wh. That's 479 Wh more slack for a cold night or an extra device.
Everything else goes to both, except the van. The eight-hour blackout leaves each with over 1,000 Wh. Van Life Daily needs 4,685 Wh and beats both on their own, which is the growth argument seen from the other side.
What the Specs Don't Tell You
Selected because: 3,600 W against 1,800 W, and only one maker publishes a noise figure.
rated cycles
The Elite's real limit is 1,800 W, and Power Lifting doesn't move it for motors. Power Lifting runs resistive loads up to 2,700 W by feeding them lessB1. A pump or a compressor gets the plain 3,600 W surge. The DELTA 4 (3800) runs 3,600 W continuously, the Elite's surge as a steady load, and surges to 7,200 WA2.
Only one maker publishes a noise figure. EcoFlow rates the DELTA 4 (3800) at 40 dB or less up to 1,800 WA8. BLUETTI publishes none for the Elite 320, which is no evidence either way. If the box sits beside a bed for a CPAP, that's the one published number on the table.
Portability & Form Factor
Selected because: 67.5 lb on two handles against about 75 lb on wheels.

Conclusion
November 4, 2026
Verdict: the BLUETTI Elite 320
Buy the Elite 320 unless you'll grow the system. For a house that backs up a fridge, a router and the lights, its 3,200 Wh and 1,800 W finish every scenario we run except Van Life Daily, which beats both, and it costs far less per watt-hour. The DELTA 4 (3800) is the more capable machine: 563 Wh more, twice the inverter, two solar inputs and a port for two extra batteries, which EcoFlow puts at 4 to 12 kWh in allA6. If you'll add panels or batteries in the next year or two, buy the EcoFlow and don't look back.
Today the Elite 320 is $936.25, $163.74 under its typical $1,099.99. The verdict weighs typical prices, not today's. Prices checked 31 days ago.

Each unit's star score is a category ranking, not customer reviews β no buyer opinions feed it. We score every station on size-independent quality (value, output, portability, endurance, ports, warranty, and more), then percentile-rank it against the other units in its capacity class, so a class-leading compact unit and a class-leading whole-home unit can both earn 5β . Here, DELTA 3800 Gen4 rates 4.1/5 (48th percentile of 22 Home Backup-class units), and Elite 320 rates 4.1/5 (46th percentile of 29 Large-class units).
How the class ranking is computed βTest Notes & Caveats
Hidden gotchas and advantages we spotted that you won't find on the product page.
Lighter, but the Heavier One Rolls
The DELTA 4 (3800) is 67.5 lb and the Elite 320 about 75 lb, 7.5 lb apart. The Elite rolls on wheels with a telescoping handle. The DELTA 4 carries by a handle at each end.
Only One of These Grows
The Elite 320 is sealed at 3,200 Wh. The DELTA 4 (3800) takes EcoFlow's extra batteries, so outgrowing it means buying a battery rather than a second inverter.
Elite 320: Power Lifting to 2,700W
The Elite 320 has BLUETTI's Power Lifting mode, which runs a resistive appliance rated up to 2,700W from its 1,800W inverter. It does that by delivering less power than the appliance asks for, not more than the inverter has: the heater still works, it just heats more slowly. Two things follow. BLUETTI scopes the mode to purely resistive loads β a heater, a kettle, an incandescent lamp β so it does nothing for a fridge compressor, a pump or a power tool; for motor loads the figure to read is the Elite 320's separate 3,600W surge peak, not this one. And it is not a reason to size down, because running a load that big from 3,200Wh is a short session either way. Genuinely useful if a heater or a kettle is why you're buying; beside the point otherwise. EcoFlow's X-Boost works the same way, running a resistive load past the inverter's rating at reduced power, but our record for the DELTA 3800 Gen4 carries no X-Boost figure, so check EcoFlow's spec sheet before comparing the two ceilings.
Warranty: No Difference
Both units carry the same 5-year warranty, so coverage isn't a tiebreaker here. Both figures are maximums rather than guarantees: EcoFlow's depends on registering the unit in the EcoFlow app, which adds two years to a three-year standard term; BLUETTI's on buying direct from BLUETTI or registering the unit, since reseller purchases carry a shorter term. Worth saying because the per-dollar framing can suggest otherwise: the Elite 320 works out at 4.5 years of cover per $1,000 spent against the DELTA 3800 Gen4's 2.3, but that spread is the price gap, not the terms.
Battery Lifespan in Real Years
The DELTA 3800 Gen4 is rated for 6,000 cycles vs 3,000. In real life: at daily use, that's 16.4 vs 8.2 years. At weekend use (twice a week), it's 58 vs 29 years. After hitting the cycle limit, the battery doesn't die β it drops to ~80% of original capacity, which is still very usable.
Elite 320: Noise Level Not Disclosed
The DELTA 3800 Gen4 publishes its noise level (40dB); the Elite 320 doesn't publish one. That isn't evidence the Elite 320 is louder β it means there's no figure to hold it to, and no way to compare the two on this without hearing them. If you're buying for a bedroom, a CPAP, or an apartment, treat the DELTA 3800 Gen4's 40dB as the only published number on the table β a spec-sheet figure, not a measurement β and look for hands-on reports of the Elite 320 before deciding.

Support
US-based phone/email/chat support (1-800-368-8604). Experiences are polarized β many report hassle-free prepaid-label replacements, but others report long waits and refurbished units sent for new claims. Pro tip: buying from Costco or Amazon gives you a stronger return safety net.

Unique strength
Fastest-charging technology (X-Stream), deepest product ecosystem, and most active innovation cadence. At the top of the range sit two whole-home paths: the TITAN line, one 5 kWh unit that grows to 30 kWh, and the DELTA Pro Ultra platform, which stacks batteries and inverters further β flagship paths, not line-wide features.
Worth knowing
Tested subscription paywalls for advanced app features in early 2025 before community backlash paused the plan. No parts or service offered out of warranty.
BLUETTI
Ecosystem
One of the broadest lineups β 15-20+ models from budget (AC2A) to flagship portable (Apex 300, 2764.8Wh). Includes specialized products: vehicle solar hubs, sodium-ion cold-weather units, and balcony storage systems.
Support
The most inconsistent support in the space. Heavily email-based with China timezone delays. Some users get smooth, efficient service; others report weeks of troubleshooting runarounds, being offered discounts on new units instead of repairs, and confusing third-party purchase claim processes. Buying direct from Bluetti's website tends to produce better support outcomes.
Community
Active and growing β Reddit r/bluetti has a dedicated community. Second-largest after EcoFlow in engagement.
App experience
Rated 4.5/5 iOS and Android β tied for best app experience in the category. V3.0 UI redesign was well-received.
Unique strength
Among the best capacity-to-price ratios available β several Elite and Apex units are the lowest $/Wh in the catalog. Widest product diversity including industry-firsts like sodium-ion cold-weather units and dual solar+alternator vehicle hubs. LFP across the rest of the range, though rated cycle life spans 2,500 (EB3A) to 6,000, and it varies WITHIN the Elite range rather than tracking it β the Elite 300 and Elite 200 V2 are rated 6,000 while the Elite 30 V2, Elite 10 Mini, Elite 320 and Elite 400 are rated 3,000+ and the Elite 100 V2 4,000+, so check the specific model. Dual-voltage (120V/240V) in flagships.
Worth knowing
Customer support inconsistency is the #1 risk factor. Older/discontinued units may become unrepairable β no spare parts policy for some models. Some reports of erratic communication from support agents.
Analyst note
EcoFlow positions itself as a mid-to-premium brand with stronger support infrastructure, while BLUETTI competes on value. The question is whether the EcoFlow ecosystem and support premium is worth it for your use case.

Analyst note
The Elite 320 is sealed at 3,200Wh, which is fine if that covers you. The DELTA 3800 Gen4 starts at 3,763Wh and can grow beyond it with EcoFlow expansion batteries β real headroom the Elite 320 doesn't have if your needs climb toward partial-home backup.

Who Should Buy Which
Buy the DELTA 3800 Gen4 if youβ¦
Buy the Elite 320 if youβ¦
- β3,200 Wh covers your longest outage, and you'll never add to it.
- βYour loads never pass 1,800 W at once: a fridge, a router, lights and a CPAP.
- βIt lives on one floor. It rolls on wheels with a telescoping handleB2.
- βYou want it now. It's on sale at $1,100, and the DELTA 4 (3800) ships in late NovemberA10.
If neither fits
If a well pump or an electric dryer is on your list, neither has 240 V outlets. Look at a unit with 240 V output instead.
The Bottom Line
If one box under 1,800 W is the whole plan, buy the Elite 320. It finishes every outage scenario we run for far less per watt-hour, and it's on sale now.
If you'll add panels or batteries, buy the DELTA 4 (3800) instead. It takes twice the solar and keeps growing where the Elite stops.
