Six load profiles, and the Explorer 600 v2 finishes one of them. Its inverter is not what gives up: it starts and holds the peak watts in all six, including the 400W the tailgate asks for. What runs out is watt-hours. The gap on this page is not power, it is how long the power lasts.

Who Should Buy Which
Buy the Power 2000 if you…
- →Storm-season buyers. An eight-hour outage list of 1,645Wh is exactly what this unit finishes, and it is the only one here that does.
- →Anyone working off-grid from a real desk setup. The Remote Workday profile's 910Wh leaves 831Wh still in the tank, which is the point at which you stop checking the screen.
- →People who will set it down once. 48.5 lbs stops mattering the moment the unit lives in one place beside the panels.
- →People who already own DJI drones, and anyone who expects their needs to climb past 2,048Wh and would rather add a battery than buy a second station.
Buy the Explorer 600 v2 if you…
- →One sleeper, one CPAP, a tent or a hotel room. That is 320Wh out of 544Wh usable, in a 14.1 lb box, and the $800 you keep buys panels or a lot of ice.
- →Phones, a laptop, a camera kit and lights for an afternoon. Nothing over 500W, nothing that has to last past dark.

If neither fits
If your real day is the Van Life Daily row at 4,685Wh, skip both. The Power 2000 covers about 37% of it and the Explorer 600 v2 about 12%, and no amount of careful planning closes a gap that size. Shop 3,000Wh-plus stations with real expansion, or a fixed lithium bank with its own inverter, and think of either of these units as the thing you carry away from that system rather than the system itself.
The Bottom Line
Buy the Power 2000 if your list has a fridge, a workday or an outage on it. It is the only unit here that finishes the eight-hour blackout profile, it refills in less clock time despite holding three times the energy, and over the rated life its energy is the cheaper of the two. Four profiles finished against one is not a close table.
The Explorer 600 v2 still owns one night, and it is a common one: a single CPAP, 14 pounds you carried in yourself, and $800 you did not spend. Work out which of those two nights you are buying for. If you cannot answer that in one sentence, it is the Power 2000, because it is the one that covers the night you did not plan for.

The bigger one, in real clock time. The Power 2000 accepts 1,800W of solar input and the Explorer 600 v2 accepts 200W, so filling 2,048Wh takes roughly 70 minutes of nameplate sun against roughly three hours for 640Wh. Is the Jackery Explorer 600 v2 rated 500W or 600W?
500W. Some listings show 600W, but Jackery's own product page publishes 500W, and that is the figure our record carries and every number on this page uses. Its rated surge is 1,000W, exactly double the continuous rating, so brief startup spikes have somewhere to go while a sustained 1,000W load does not.
How many years will each battery actually last?
On the rated cycle counts, about 11 years of daily cycling for the Power 2000 and about 8 for the Explorer 600 v2, or several decades if either one only comes out at weekends. Cycle counts flatter small packs, though, because a cycle moves whatever the pack holds, and the Explorer 600 v2's 3,000-cycle figure is the number our research left unresolved. When the count runs out neither unit dies: capacity settles near 80% of new.
