Why does the BLUETTI AC60P cost more than the AC70P if it holds less capacity?
You're paying for IP65 water and dust resistance and a genuine battery-expansion port, not raw capacity [A1][A3]. The AC70P is cheaper and holds 360Wh more, but it's sealed for life and doesn't claim any weather resistance.
Is the AC60P's expansion port worth the extra $100?
Only if you actually plan to use it. The AC60P can scale past its 504Wh base with add-on batteries [A3], while the AC70P is permanently capped at 864Wh [B3]. If your needs are likely to grow, the AC60P's path can end up ahead of the AC70P for good; if not, you're paying $100 for headroom you won't use.
Why does the smaller AC60P cost more than the bigger AC70?
You are paying for ruggedness, not capacity. The AC60P's price buys an IP65 sealed shell rated against dust and water jets, plus an extra year of warranty. The AC70 is the larger battery with more output and solar, and it costs $390 less.
Is the AC60P waterproof?
No. IP65 means dust-tight and resistant to low-pressure water jets from any direction, but it is not rated for submersion [A1]. Treat it as rain- and splash-proof, not something you can drop in a lake.
Is the BLUETTI AC60P worth $350 more than the AC50B?
Only if you need what the extra money actually buys: IP65 dust and water resistance [B1] and a battery expansion slot the AC50B doesn't have. For 56 extra watt-hours alone, no - the AC50B costs less than half as much per lifetime kWh.
