Take the RIVER 3 MAX. It's the cheaper unit, it weighs 10.4 lb against the RIVER 2 Pro's 17.2 lb, it's rated 30 dBA where the Pro is rated 62 dBA under load, and it wins the one scenario out of six that either unit can actually complete.

The Pro reaches 62 dBA when it's working hard, which means charging fast or discharging fast. Trickle a phone off it and you may never hear the fan. Refill it at speed in a studio apartment and you'll hear little else. The RIVER 3 MAX is rated 30 dBA and simply never has this conversation with you.
