EcoFlow has stopped selling the RIVER 3 MAX PLUS. Go looking for one and EcoFlow points you to the RIVER 2 Pro, a model from the RIVER generation before it. So this page answers one question. What does a MAX PLUS shopper gain and lose by taking the Pro instead?
The batteries are close. The Pro holds 768Wh against the MAX PLUS's 858Wh. Both use cells rated for 3,000 cycles, where a cycle is one full drain and refill, and both carry a five-year warranty. The Pro sells for $349.
The difference I'd feel first is output. Continuous output is what the inverter can hold for as long as the battery lasts. The Pro holds 800W and the MAX PLUS holds 600W. On a storm night at my cabin in Truckee, anything that draws between those two numbers runs on one box and shuts the other off.
