The Sherpa is a different kind of object: 2.1 lbs in a laptop sleeve, with 15W wireless charging on the lidB2. One review took a laptop from 10% to 100% off its USB-C port in ninety minutes and spent 45% of the battery doing itB3, which is a fair portrait of the whole product. At 45% a charge, two of them and it's done. If that's your day, the weight isn't a consolation prize, it's the entire reason to buy.

Selected because: Thirteen cents a lifetime kilowatt-hour against five dollars and twenty-eight, on 3,500 rated cycles against 500.

Here's the figure that complicates the obvious answer: on a twice-a-week schedule the Sherpa costs 14 cents a day to own and the DELTA Pro costs 13. The Sherpa is roughly six times cheaper to buy and spends its cycle life about seven times sooner, and those two facts very nearly cancel. If all you ever wanted was a laptop's worth of power on Saturdays, lifetime economics is not the argument that should move you.

What the penny hides is what the day buys. The same rate gets you 3,600Wh on one side of the page and 94.7Wh on the other, and the DELTA Pro's cycle count doesn't run out until 34 years of weekend use where the Sherpa's is spent at 5. Reaching that limit isn't death either. Capacity settles at roughly 80% and the unit keeps working, but the Sherpa gets there while the DELTA Pro is barely started.

What the Specs Don't Tell You

Selected because: Nine cards fire here, and one of them is unfair to the Sherpa: a sealed 94.7Wh is the design brief for a bank that has to clear the 100Wh flight limit, not a shortcoming.

The card worth acting on is the surge one, and the ratio is the least informative part of it. The DELTA Pro's 2x surge-to-continuous against the Sherpa's 1.5x tells you less than the absolute ceilings do: 7,200W against 150W. Motors don't read ratios. A fridge or a power tool that briefly pulls two to three times its rated draw is an ordinary event for one of these and outside the nameplate for the other.

Two more asymmetries are worth naming straight. The DELTA Pro is rated for a 20ms changeover, so a PC or a router rides through an outage on it, and the Sherpa has no UPS mode at all. Treat that 20ms as a stated ceiling rather than something we clocked. And only the DELTA Pro publishes a noise figure, 60dB. The Sherpa's blank isn't quiet, it's missing, so buying for a bedroom means treating 60dB as the only measured number on the table and going and listening to the other one before you commit.

Ninety-nine pounds is a two-person lift into a trunk, and the reason it has wheels is that nobody expected you to do it twice. Pick where it lives and accept that's where it lives. The other unit on this page weighs 2.1 lbs and travels in the same bag as the laptop it's there to charge. These aren't two points on one scale. They're two different objects that happen to store electricity.

60dB is about as loud as a normal conversation. The Sherpa 100AC publishes no figure to compare it against, which cuts both ways. For most people, fan noise around 45dB and up is where sleep starts to suffer.
