EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4 vs EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra XThe House Battery Has No USB Port. Do You Need the House?

The Ultra X runs a house and the DELTA 4 (3000) runs a short list, and the short list is the cheaper energy over the cells' life. I'd buy the DELTA 4 (3000) for a fridge, the router and the lights through a night, and the Ultra X only if something on 240 V has to keep running or your outages last for days.

Gunner’s take

Whole-Home Backup Tester

One of these runs a short list, and the other runs the house.

The DELTA 4 (3000) puts 3,072 Wh and 3,600 W of 120 V output in a 57.3 lb box with a handle at each endA7. The DELTA Pro Ultra X holds exactly four times the battery, runs 12,000 W at 120 and 240 VB1, and weighs 298.7 lb across its boxes. EcoFlow sells it on a quick-connect installB4.

Per watt-hour on the box, the two sit closer than their prices look.

The DELTA 4 (3000) lists at $1,699 and the Ultra X at $7,999, yet the Ultra X costs only a little more per watt-hour of battery. Over the cells' rated life the smaller box is about half the cost per kWh, because EcoFlow rates it for 6,000 cycles against 3,500. What the Ultra X's money buys is the inverter, the 240 V side and a roof's worth of solar input.

So walk your panel before you shop.

A well pump, central air or an electric range sits on a two-pole breaker and wants 240 V, and only the Ultra X has a 240 V outlet. If the list is a fridge, the router, a CPAP and the lights, the DELTA 4 (3000) gets through our eight-hour blackout with 966 Wh still in it. EcoFlow ships it in early DecemberA10.

What the Numbers Reveal

Each conclusion stated first — the numbers behind it on one line, the full analysis below.

F1

Capacity

Outages measured in hours are the DELTA 4's job, and outages measured in days are the Ultra X's. There's no middle setting on this page, because the 3000 can't take a second batteryA6. What you buy on day one is what you have on day four.

DELTA 4 (3000): 3,072 Wh, no extra-battery portA6DELTA Pro Ultra X: 12,288 Wh base8-Hour Blackout (1,645 Wh): the DELTA 4 (3000) ends with 966 Wh, the Ultra X with 8,800 Wh

Why it mattersIf your outages have lasted hours, buy the small one; if they've lasted days, the choice is the Ultra X, a big solar array or a generator.

F2

continuous output

Central air, a deep well pump and an electric range don't connect to anything the DELTA 4 (3000) has. More battery wouldn't change that. The Ultra X's 240 V side is the only thing on this page that runs them.

DELTA 4 (3000): 3,600 W continuous, 7,200 W surge, 120 V outputA2DELTA Pro Ultra X: 12,000 W continuous, 45,000 W surge, 240 V outletsEcoFlow pitches the Ultra X for every circuit, a 5-ton air conditioner includedB1

Why it mattersCount the two-pole breakers that feed something you can't live without; one is enough to send you to the Ultra X.

F3

rated cycles

The buyer who cycles every day is usually living on solar, and that buyer runs into the 3000's single 1,000 W inputA5 long before the cycle rating counts. The Ultra X takes ten times the panels. The cheap lifetime kWh is real, and it belongs to a backup box.

DELTA 4 (3000): rated for 6,000 cyclesDELTA Pro Ultra X: rated for 3,500 cyclesDELTA 4 (3000): one 1,000 W solar inputA5; DELTA Pro Ultra X: up to 10,000 W of solar

Why it mattersLiving on solar every day, weigh the Ultra X's input over its cost per kWh; backing up a few outages a year, neither cycle rating will ever be tested.

The specific dimensions that decide these two units — everything else is a tie.

Your Life, Your Pick

Selected because: The DELTA 4 (3000) takes camping and the tailgate, the Ultra X takes the long days, and both get through the blackout night.

Camping and the tailgate go to the DELTA 4 (3000) by default. Nobody drives a 298.7 lb house battery to a campsite. The 3000 covers the 2,100 Wh weekend with 511 Wh to spare and barely notices the tailgate.

The long days belong to the Ultra X. Van Life Daily leaves the 3000 2,074 Wh short of 4,685 Wh, and it has no port for a second batteryA6. The Ultra X covers that day and the workday with thousands of watt-hours left over, though it's no more a van battery than a water heater is.

What the Specs Don't Tell You

Selected because: Only the Ultra X has 240 V outlets and a 45,000 W surge, and only the DELTA 4 (3000) has a USB port.

rated cycles

Only one of these has a 240 V outlet, and it isn't the portable. The Ultra X surges to 45,000 W, which EcoFlow credits to its Adaptive StartB1. The DELTA 4 (3000) surges to 7,200 W, plenty for a fridge compressor's kick at startup, and both switch over in no worse than 10 ms.

The Ultra X has no USB port at all, and no car socket. Phones and laptops charge from it the way they charge from the house, through their wall bricks. The DELTA 4 (3000) has a 140 W USB-C port and three more USB ports beside itA3, so a laptop plugs straight in.

Lifetime Value

Selected because: 6,000 rated cycles against 3,500, on batteries four times apart in size.

cost / lifetime kWh

Over the cells' rated life, the DELTA 4 (3000) is the cheaper energy: $0.09 per kWh against $0.19. EcoFlow rates its cells for 6,000 cycles against the Ultra X's 3,500. At one cycle a day that's 16.4 years against 9.6.

The Ultra X still moves more energy before it's done. Each of its cycles is four times the size, so its rated life comes to 43,008 kWh against 18,432 kWh. A backup unit that sees a few outages a year won't get near either figure, so this section only matters if the battery works every day.

Portability & Form Factor

Selected because: 57.3 lb against 298.7 lb: one goes in the truck, the other gets a spot by the panel.

weight

The DELTA 4 (3000) goes where the weekend goes. It's 57.3 lb with a handle at each end, and EcoFlow sells a folding cart for it separatelyA7. I'd carry it down a basement flight myself and not think twice.

The Ultra X is 241 lb heavier and gets sited, not carried. It arrives in boxes and goes in on EcoFlow's quick-connect installB4. I'd pick its spot the way I'd pick a subpanel's: once, near the wiring, with room to work.

Either unit

A CPAP is about 40W for eight hours, so both of these cover the night several times over — capacity isn't the question here. The only published difference is fan noise, and it can't settle this: the DELTA Pro Ultra X is rated 30dB and the DELTA 3000 Gen4 40dB, but the DELTA Pro Ultra X's is its maker's best case and the DELTA 3000 Gen4's is EcoFlow's maximum under heavy charge and discharge, so at a 40W draw the real gap can only be narrower than it looks, and may even run the other way. Neither settles which box is quieter at a bedside. Buy whichever is cheaper or easier to carry.

Conclusion

November 4, 2026

Verdict: the EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4

For a fridge, the router and the lights through a night, I'd buy the DELTA 4 (3000). It finishes our eight-hour blackout with 966 Wh left, its energy costs $0.09 per lifetime kWh against $0.19, and it can leave the house on a weekend. The Ultra X is the call when a 240 V load has to run, when outages last days, or when you want 10,000 W of solar feeding the house. The 3000 has no battery portA6, so a buyer who expects the list to grow should look at the bigger DELTA 4 before stretching to the Ultra X. EcoFlow ships the 3000 in early DecemberA10.

Class ranking (the star rating)

Each unit's star score is a category ranking, not customer reviews — no buyer opinions feed it. We score every station on size-independent quality (value, output, portability, endurance, ports, warranty, and more), then percentile-rank it against the other units in its capacity class, so a class-leading compact unit and a class-leading whole-home unit can both earn 5★. Here, DELTA 3000 Gen4 rates 4.8/5 (86th percentile of 29 Large-class units), and DELTA Pro Ultra X rates 4.3/5 (61st percentile of 39 Whole-Home / Off-Grid-class units).

Test Notes & Caveats

Hidden gotchas and advantages we spotted that you won't find on the product page.

[CAUTION]

241 lb Apart

The DELTA 4 (3000) is 57.3 lb with a handle at each end. The Ultra X is 298.7 lb across its boxes. One rides to the campsite on Friday. The other gets a spot near the panel and keeps it.

[NOTE]

Sealed at 3,072 Wh

There's no battery port on the DELTA 4 (3000), so the battery you buy is the battery you keep. The Ultra X starts at four times that and takes more. If your outage list might grow, the bigger DELTA 4 has a port, and it's worth a look before either of these.

[ADVANTAGE]

45,000 W Starts a Different Class of Motor

The Ultra X surges to 45,000 W and the DELTA 4 (3000) to 7,200 W. A fridge compressor starts on either. Central air on 240 V starts on one, because only the Ultra X has a 240 V side.

[NOTE]

Warranty: No Difference

Both units carry the same 5-year warranty, so coverage isn't a tiebreaker here. The DELTA 3000 Gen4's figure is a maximum rather than a guarantee — it depends on registering the unit in the EcoFlow app, which adds two years to a three-year standard term. Worth saying because the per-dollar framing can suggest otherwise: the DELTA 3000 Gen4 works out at 2.9 years of cover per $1,000 spent against the DELTA Pro Ultra X's 0.6, but that spread is the price gap, not the terms.

[NOTE]

More Years, Less Energy

The DELTA 4 (3000) is rated for 6,000 cycles against 3,500, which is 16.4 years against 9.6 at a cycle a day. Each Ultra X cycle moves four times the energy, though, so its rated life comes to 43,008 kWh against 18,432 kWh. The small one lasts longer. The big one does more.

Analyst note

The DELTA 3000 Gen4 wins on both sticker price and long-term value. At $0.09/kWh over its lifetime, it's meaningfully cheaper to own. Clear value winner. One caution on the lifespan row: the DELTA 3000 Gen4 takes longer to reach its cycle rating, but a cycle moves a different amount of energy on each unit — the DELTA Pro Ultra X still delivers more over its shorter horizon (43,008 vs 18,432 kWh). Years measure wear, not usefulness.

The DELTA 3000 Gen4 is sealed at 3,072Wh, which is fine if that covers you. The DELTA Pro Ultra X starts at 12,288Wh and can grow beyond it with EcoFlow expansion batteries — real headroom the DELTA 3000 Gen4 doesn't have if your needs climb toward partial-home backup.

EcoFlow DELTA 3000 Gen4

Nobody has a DELTA 4 (3000) in hand in the US yet. EcoFlow put it on sale November 4 and ships it in early DecemberA10, so this page runs on EcoFlow's US store page and our own arithmeticA2A3A9.

The test I'd want is a kitchen circuit. EcoFlow rates its wall charging at 1,800 W, which at 120 V is 15 A, the full rating of an ordinary 15 A circuitA4. Hypothetically, I'd plug it into the outlet the fridge shares, start a charge with the compressor running, and see whether the breaker or the app setting gives first.

“Capacity 3,072 Wh, LFP (LiFePO4) cells. EcoFlow sells it as the DELTA 3000 Gen4; buyers and the press call the pair the DELTA 4.”

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the DELTA 3000 Gen4 if you…

  • →Your outage list is a fridge, the router and the lights. It finishes our eight-hour blackout with 966 Wh left.
  • →It has a second job at the campsite. At 57.3 lb it goes. The Ultra X stays home.
  • →Your devices charge over USB-C. It has a 140 W port, and the Ultra X has no USB port at all.
  • →You'd rather plug in than book an install. The Ultra X goes in on EcoFlow's quick-connect installB4.

Buy the DELTA Pro Ultra X if you…

  • →Something on a two-pole breaker has to run. A 240 V well pump, central air or an electric range needs its 240 V side.
  • →Your outages run for days. It ends the blackout night with 8,800 Wh left, 5.3 more nights.
  • →Solar is the plan, not the backup. It takes 10,000 W of panels against the 3000's 1,000 W.

If neither fits

If 3,072 Wh is too little but a whole-house install is too much, close this tab. The bigger DELTA 4 takes extra batteriesA6 and grows with the list.

08

The Bottom Line

For a night of essentials, I'd buy the DELTA 4 (3000) and leave the house battery to houses that need one. It gets through the blackout night with room left, it rides to the campsite, and its energy costs about half as much per kWh over its rated life.

If a 240 V load has to run or your outages run for days, skip the small one entirely. It can't grow into that jobA6. The Ultra X was built for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers drawn from the spec record and cited owner research.

Can the EcoFlow DELTA 4 (3000) power a whole house?

No. It runs 3,600 W at 120 V from five AC outlets and has no 240 V outlet, so it covers essentials like a fridge, a router, a CPAP and lights. The DELTA Pro Ultra X is EcoFlow's whole-home system, with 12,000 W and 240 V outlets.

How much is the DELTA 4 (3000), and when does it ship?

EcoFlow lists it at $1,699 in the US. It went on sale November 4, 2026, and EcoFlow says it ships in early December. The DELTA Pro Ultra X lists at $7,999.

Can you add batteries to the DELTA 4 (3000)?

No. It has no extra-battery port, so 3,072 Wh is all it will ever hold. The DELTA Pro Ultra X starts at 12,288 Wh and grows to 61.44 kWh on one inverter.

Does the DELTA Pro Ultra X have USB ports?

No. It has no USB-A or USB-C ports and no 12 V car socket, so phones and laptops charge through their usual wall chargers plugged into its AC outlets. The DELTA 4 (3000) has a 140 W USB-C port, two 65 W USB-C ports and a USB-A port.

How long does the DELTA 4 (3000) last in a power outage?

Our eight-hour blackout uses 1,645 Wh, and the DELTA 4 (3000) finishes it with 966 Wh left, about 59% of a second night. The DELTA Pro Ultra X finishes the same night with 8,800 Wh left.
