The Explorer's counter is physical. It weighs 14.1 lb; the DELTA weighs 26.7. That's a one-hand grab off a shelf against a carry you plan for, and if this station rides in a canoe or up to a campsite from the car park, 12.6 pounds outranks most of the spec sheet.
It also carries a quieter advantage: a cycle rating of at least 6,000 against the DELTA's 3,000. That's a real number with a narrow audience, the person who drains and refills it every day for close to a decade. Who Should Buy Which
Buy the DELTA 3 Classic if you…
- →Your outage plan is a fridge, a router and some lamps. 1,800W rated with 3,600W of surge means the fridge starts, and 870Wh usable means it keeps going longer than 544Wh would.
- →You want to plug in more than two things at once. Six AC outlets against two ends the power-strip juggling.
- →You charge from panels and want them to count: 500W of solar input fills 1,024Wh in about two hours of ideal sun, where 200W takes a little over three to fill 640Wh.
- →The station lives in a closet, a trunk or a garage, and 26.7 lb only gets lifted a few times a year.
Buy the Explorer 600 v2 if you…
- →You carry it. 14.1 lb goes down a trail, into a canoe or up three flights of stairs without a second thought; 26.7 lb argues with you at every step.
- →Your whole list is a CPAP, phones, a laptop and lights. A CPAP night uses 320Wh and leaves 224Wh of the Explorer's usable pack, and the 500W ceiling never comes into it.

If neither fits
If your day looks like the van-life workload at 4,685Wh, close this tab cheerfully. That's more than five times the DELTA's usable capacity and more than eight times the Explorer's, and you want a much larger station or a wired system. At the other end, if you're only topping up a phone, a tablet and a laptop, both of these are more box than the job needs. A large USB-C power bank does it and fits in the bag you already carry.
The Bottom Line
Take the DELTA 3 Classic. It holds 1,024Wh to the Explorer's 640Wh and runs an 1,800W inverter to 500W, which means it finishes the mid-sized loads the Explorer runs out on and starts the appliances the Explorer refuses. The Explorer's double cycle rating is real, but the DELTA's own rating still outruns its warranty at a cycle a day.
The exception is the carry. If this goes on your back, 14.1 pounds against 26.7 is worth more than everything else on the sheet, and the Explorer is the one you'd actually bring. Jackery no longer sells it, so a new buyer who wants a Jackery should look at the HomePower 1000 v2, which we compare with the DELTA 3 Classic on its own page. Can the Jackery Explorer 600 v2 run a fridge or a microwave?
A microwave, no: it's rated 500W with a 1,000W surge ceiling. A small fridge depends on the fridge, since compressors pull two to three times their running wattage at startup, so check yours before counting on it. The DELTA 3 Classic's 1,800W inverter and 3,600W surge is the safer choice for anything with a compressor; one hands-on review started a small window AC on it, with short runtime.
Which one is better for a CPAP?
Both handle a night easily. A CPAP night is about 320Wh, which leaves 550Wh in the DELTA's usable pack and 224Wh in the Explorer's. The difference shows up on night two: the DELTA's 870Wh usable covers about 2.7 nights at that rate, the Explorer's 544Wh about 1.7. If it travels with you, the Explorer's 14.1 lb is the easier bag.
Which lasts longer, the DELTA 3 Classic or the Explorer 600 v2?
The Explorer, on paper: at least 6,000 rated cycles against 3,000, or 3,840kWh of lifetime energy against 3,072kWh. In years, that's 16.4 against 8.2 at daily use and 57.7 against 28.8 at twice a week. Both carry five-year warranties, and the DELTA's rating outlasts its warranty even at one full cycle a day.
How fast do these recharge from solar?
At their rated ceilings, about two hours for the DELTA's 1,024Wh at 500W of input and a little over three hours for the Explorer's 640Wh at 200W. Real panels rarely deliver their rated wattage, so both stretch under cloud. The smaller battery is the slower one to fill.
