The AC180 is the one to buy, and the battery has nothing to do with it. At 960Wh against 1,152Wh these are the same size class. The difference is the tap: 500W continuous out of the DELTA 3 1000 Air against 1,800W out of the AC180. Five hundred watts covers a laptop, two monitors, a router and a CPAP all night. It does not cover a kettle, a hair dryer or a space heaterA3.

EcoFlow has also stopped selling the AirA4. What is left is retailer stock, and the $309 we captured is a single spot reading with no price history behind it, so treat it as today's clearance number rather than what the unit costs. The closest current replacement in EcoFlow's own line is the DELTA 3 Classic, which puts an 1,800W inverter in the same one-kilowatt classA4. That is EcoFlow's verdict on a 500W ceiling, not ours.

The Air wins one thing outright, and it is the thing you feel: 22 lbs against 35.3 lbs. One is a single-hand lift out of a trunk, the other is a two-hands, knees-bent lift, and weight is the caveat that comes up most often in the AC180's coverageB2. If the unit lives under a desk and never moves, that difference is worth nothing. If it goes in and out of a car every Saturday, it may be the only spec on this page you ever notice.

18W is phone-and-earbuds fast. Most USB-C laptops want at least 60W to charge at full speed, and under load an 18W port may not gain ground at all, which is a strange limit on a unit built to keep a home office running. The workaround is the AC outlet and your laptop's own brick, and it works fine. The AC180 just does it from the port, at 100W.

The ratio flatters, the ceiling decides

The DELTA 3 1000 Air keeps twice its rated output in reserve where the AC180 keeps half again, and that comparison matters less than it looks. A motor draws its startup spike in watts, not as a multiple of whatever inverter it happens to be plugged into. On raw starting ability the AC180 has nearly three times the ceiling. The Air's real advantage is that it runs further below its own limit at steady state, which mostly means it loafs at loads the AC180 would also loaf at.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the DELTA 3 1000 Air if you…

  • You already own one, or you have found clearance stock well under what the AC180 costs, and you can name every load it will ever see: laptop, monitors, router, phone, a CPAP. All of those sit under 500W with room left over.
  • The thing you are protecting is a desk you cannot afford to lose mid-outage, the unit never moves from under it, and you can still find one discounted. A rating of no worse than 10ms is the best reason on this page to choose the Air, and it is a real one.
  • You carry the unit far more often than you load it heavily, and you have found one at a clearance price. Thirteen fewer pounds in and out of a trunk every weekend is a different life, and the CPAP night both units cover with hundreds of watt-hours spare does not care which one you brought.

If your list includes a fridge running all day, a van's daily draw at 4,685Wh, or a full eight-hour blackout's worth of house at 1,645Wh, close this tab. Neither unit covers any of those, and adding a second battery later is not an option because neither one expands. What you want is a station two or three times this size with expansion behind it, bought once, instead of a 1kWh unit you will outgrow in the first outage that matters.

The Bottom Line

Same battery class, very different taps. Five hundred watts on one side, 1,800W on the other, and every other difference on this page runs downstream of that. The Air is a good desk UPS that EcoFlow has stopped building. The AC180 is a power station.

Buy the AC180, register it for the longer term, and take the extra thirteen pounds as the price of a unit that finishes the job. The one argument the other way is honest: if what you are protecting is a desktop with unsaved work, the Air's tighter UPS class is real, and it is the one you will actually carry. If you already own one, or you find one cheap and every load you own is light, use it happily. Just do not pay for it as though it were still in production.

Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air discontinued?

Yes. EcoFlow no longer sells it, and the closest replacement in its own line is the DELTA 3 Classic, which puts an 1,800W inverter in the same one-kilowatt class. Anything you find now is retailer or clearance stock. That is no reason to dump a unit you already own, and it is a good reason not to pay full price for one.

Can the DELTA 3 1000 Air run a fridge or a microwave?

Not a microwave, and not a fridge you would count on. It is 500W continuous with 1,000W of surge, which rules out heating elements outright: no kettle, no hair dryer, no space heater. A compressor draws its startup spike in watts rather than as a multiple of your inverter's rating, so that 1,000W ceiling is the whole answer. The AC180 runs 1,800W and starts 2,700W.

Which one is better for a CPAP?

Either. A CPAP is about 40W, so a night comes to roughly 320Wh, and both units finish it with hundreds of watt-hours unused: 496Wh left on the Air, 659Wh on the AC180. With capacity a formality, choose on what you will actually notice. The Air is the lighter carry to a campsite; the AC180 has years of warranty behind it and is still being made.

Is the BLUETTI AC180 worth $190 more than the DELTA 3 1000 Air?

If any load on your list goes over 500W, yes. The gap is not firmly $190 either: the AC180's $499 is a baseline we track, while the Air's $309 is a single spot capture on a unit EcoFlow has discontinued, so what you actually pay depends on what stock is left. Per lifetime kilowatt-hour the two are one cent apart, so the Air is not buying you cheaper energy. It is buying you a smaller tap.

Does the BLUETTI AC180 really have a 5-year warranty?

Up to five years, with a condition: buy direct from BLUETTI or register the unit. Bought through a reseller and left unregistered, it is two years, the same term the Air carries. Five years on a $499 unit works out to $100 per covered year against $155 for a $309 unit covered for two, so the registration step is worth the five minutes it takes.
