The Explorer 1000 Plus is the buy here, and the reason isn't the one the price tags suggest. At 79 cents a watt-hour against the Elite 30 V2's 83, the two boxes charge almost exactly the same rate for stored energy. The extra $460 isn't a brand premium or a quality premium.
