Is the BLUETTI Apex 300 with two B300K batteries actually cheaper than the Yeti PRO 4000?
Yes, and then roughly it isn't. The Apex system lists at $3,699 against the Yeti PRO 4000's $4,000, but the Hub D1 that owners and reviewers keep adding for DC and USB ports is another $300 [A10][A17], which puts the two within a dollar of each other. Treat it as a $4,000 decision either way. At that price you're choosing between 8,294Wh and 3,994Wh.
Why does the Goal Zero Yeti PRO 4000 cost five times as much?
Mostly because it holds 2.8 times the energy and takes a third more cycles doing it, with a 3,600W inverter instead of 1,800W. Measured per kilowatt-hour delivered across its whole life the gap between these two is modest. The sticker gap is capacity, and capacity is only worth paying for if you draw it.
Is the Goal Zero Yeti PRO 4000 worth nearly 4.5 times the price of the Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus?
Only if you need what the extra money actually buys: about twice the capacity (3,994Wh against 2,043Wh), a 3,000W solar ceiling instead of 1,200W, and headroom on scenarios like Weekend Camping that the Explorer can't cover at all. For lighter, more common loads, CPAP, remote work, a tailgate, the Explorer clears them too, at less than half the Yeti's cost per lifetime kWh.
Is the Yeti PRO 4000 worth $1,000 more than the 3000X?
For regular use, yes. Despite costing almost the same per watt-hour at checkout ($1.00 versus $0.99), the PRO 4000 is rated for 4,000 cycles against 500, which the engine prices at $0.25 per lifetime kWh against the 3000X's $1.98. For occasional, light use where cycle count barely matters, the gap is less decisive.
Is the Yeti PRO 4000 reliable?
Mostly, but there's a real caveat. Owner reports describe 12V charging errors on individual units, including one case where a replacement unit also failed to charge from solar [B3]. Build quality and support are otherwise praised as strong [B1], but it's worth registering the unit and testing solar charging early.
