The AC300 stack only pulls ahead when you are drawing thousands of watt-hours every single day, which in practice means full-time off-grid living rather than emergencies. Buy the depth when you have measured the need, not before.
Does the Apex 300 + B500K expand if I outgrow it?
Yes. Both units accept BLUETTI expansion batteries, so neither locks you into today's capacity. That is what makes the Apex the lower-risk buy: start with the smaller pack, watch what your worst week actually draws, and add a battery when you have a real number instead of paying the premium up front for a guess.
