Run that out over cycle life, where 4,000 cycles against 3,000 turn into 8,192 lifetime kWh against 4,299, and the cost of energy lands at thirteen cents a kilowatt-hour versus nineteen. You will not need those figures again.

What the $799 buys is a different machine, not a smaller version of the same one. The AC180T holds two B70 packs that slide out and change over while the unit is running, provided the load is moderate at the timeB1. That turns runtime into a question of how many packs are in the truck rather than how big the box is, and nothing in EcoFlow's range answers it.

Everything else on the spec sheet goes one way. After the 85% inverter derate you are choosing between 1,741Wh and 1,218Wh of usable stock, a 3,000W inverter against 1,800W, twice the solar input, and a unit that weighs 7.7 lbs less while carrying 615Wh more.

One thing that arithmetic does not capture, and it counts against our own pick: when the AC180T's cells wear out you replace packs, not the power station, while the DELTA's battery is the DELTA. That is a genuine hedge at the far end of ownership. It is also paid for in packs you will have to buy, which is money the 8,192 kWh figure never has to spend, so treat it as a softening rather than a reversal.

Runtime: Will It Power Your Gear?

The AC180T's 1,218Wh gets you just under six hours of the same night, which is roughly the stretch between the lights going out and the point you would have gone to bed anyway.

Then the sun comes up and the thin margin stops mattering. 1,000W of solar input refills 2,048Wh in about two hours of strong light while 500W needs about three to replace 1,433Wh, so the bigger battery is also the faster one to reload. Over a three-day outage that compounds: one unit starts every morning at full, and the other starts every morning behind.

The DELTA accepts extra batteries and lifts its own ceiling toward 10kWhA4, which is exactly what you want when the unit lives in a closet and the only question that matters is how much is sitting there when the grid drops. The AC180T keeps 1,433Wh permanently and instead lets you pull a flat B70 and drop in a charged one without interrupting whatever is plugged inB1.

Swapping is a refuelling strategy, not a bigger tank, and it only works if you own the fuel. At $799 you have bought the smaller battery of the two; the architecture that justifies that costs extra and has to be charged and hauled. Decide the pack rotation first and the AC180T follows from it. Do it the other way round and you have paid a higher rate per watt-hour for a slot sitting empty.

What redeems it is that the weight is divisible. Take the B70 packs out and the load splits into pieces one person can walk up basement stairsB4, while 50.7 lbs of DELTA is 50.7 lbs however you approach it. Set it down once and never move it and the lighter unit wins on both counts. Move it alone and often and the heavier one is the kinder object.

Brand Trust

Selected because: Identical five-year warranties, and two service operations that are nothing alike behind them.

Both come with five years, and the paper is where the similarity ends. EcoFlow staffs a US phone line and sits on the largest user community in the category; BLUETTI works mostly over email across a large time difference and is the less predictable of the two when a unit needs fixing. On a five-year commitment, that gap is worth more than the $60 a year separating what the two warranties cost you ($220 against $160).

EcoFlow's own asterisk, before this reads as a coronation: they recalled the DELTA Max 2000 in October 2025 over an overheating risk, and they sell neither parts nor service once your warranty runs out. A five-year warranty with no repair path on the other side of it is a five-year product with a long tail of hoping nothing breaks.

Two noise numbers, two different benches

The catalog lists the AC180T at 45 dBA under load and the DELTA 3 Max Plus at 30. Treat that as directional and nothing more. 30 dBA is the floor value the catalog assigns to a large share of the units in it, and the two figures were almost certainly not taken at the same load or the same distance, so the gap on the page is wider than any gap you could measure. Neither fan should decide a $400 purchase; if quiet is a hard requirement, judge it in person with something actually running.

Surge headroom you will probably never use

6,000W of surge over a 3,000W inverter is double headroom, against 2,700W over 1,800W for one and a half times, and the higher ratio is the better bet when a compressor kicks on. Here is the catch against our own pick: across all six loads modelled on this page, both units clear the peak draw. The DELTA's advantage is insurance on whatever you buy next year, not something that changes a single answer above.

The DELTA switches over in 10ms and the AC180T in 20ms, which is a real difference in class and ten milliseconds you will never perceive at a desk full of consumer electronics. It earns attention only if you are protecting equipment with a documented transfer-time requirement, and in that case check the requirement against the unit's own datasheet rather than any comparison table, this one included.
