The Explorer 1500 Ultra belongs to a different Jackery sub-line than the 600 v2, not just a bigger battery in the same one. At $999 versus $499, the Ultra costs almost exactly what you'd guess: twice as much. What you might not guess is that it's also the cheaper unit to own. Spread the price across each unit's rated cycle life and capacity, and the smaller, cheaper-looking 600 v2 turns out to cost more for every watt-hour it delivers, not less.

Three of the six scenarios here aren't really a contest. That's spreading the purchase price over however many years the battery would physically survive at that pace, not over the energy it actually delivers each time, which is a narrower question. For most buying decisions, the honest takeaway is that either battery outlasts the reasonable lifespan of the category. The real differences on this page are capacity and output, not which cells survive longer.
