Seven times the battery for three and a half times the money: 2,042.8Wh at $899 against 293Wh at $259. Run that per watt-hour and the expensive unit turns out to be the cheap one, 44 cents against 88. The Explorer 300 costs twice as much for every watt-hour it holds.

Shop a station sized past 4,685Wh, or buy the 2000 Plus with an expansion battery treated as part of the purchase instead of a someday. And if what you really want is phones charged through a long evening, neither of these is the shape of that problem: a large USB-C power bank costs less, weighs less, and doesn't need an inverter awake to do it.

Take the Explorer 2000 Plus. The reason is the one the whole page keeps arriving at: 249Wh of usable energy decides everything the 300 can and cannot do, and it cannot do a CPAP night, an eight-hour blackout or a remote workday. Eleven cents per lifetime kWh against a dollar ten is the receipt. The 400W tailgate load that starts and then quits is the scene.

Can the Jackery Explorer 300 run a CPAP all night?
No. A CPAP night in our model needs 320Wh and the 300 holds 249Wh usable, leaving it 71Wh short, which is a bit over six hours at a 40W draw. It also lists no UPS mode, so if it is your backup during an outage, someone has to be awake to move the plug. The 2000 Plus covers the same night on 18% of its usable energy.
Can the Explorer 300 run a fridge, a kettle or a coffee maker?
Starting one is not the problem; holding it is. The 300 rates 300W continuous with 500W of peak, so it can get a 400W load moving and then cannot sustain it. Anything with a compressor or a heating element that settles above 300W is outside what this unit does, and that is where the 2000 Plus's 3,000W continuous rating earns its price.
How long will each one last before the battery wears out?
The 2000 Plus is rated for at least 4,000 cycles and the 300 for at least 800, which at daily use works out to about 11 years against 2.2, and at twice a week to 38 years against 8. Does Jackery's 5-year warranty apply automatically?
Not quite. Jackery's longer term is three years as standard with two more added when you register the unit, so the five years on the 2000 Plus is real but conditional, and the registration is a first-week job rather than a someday job. The 300 carries two years. If a fault appears in year three, only one of these two is still covered.
