Spec deltas
The Jackery Explorer 300D has no AC outlet. Not a weak one, not a small one: it's a 288Wh box that sends its 300W out through three USB-C ports, a USB-A and a car socket, with no inverter anywhere in itB1B3. The DJI Power 1000 runs 2,200W of AC with 4,400W of surge behind it. Everything else on this page is downstream of that one difference.
So the useful question isn't which of these is better. It's whether you're shopping for an outlet or a charger. At $179 in a 5.5 lb package the Explorer 300D charges devices very well and costs $520 less than the $699 Power 1000. It will never run a coffee maker, a CPAP humidifier or a fridge, because there is nowhere on it to plug one in.
If you came here meaning "power station" in the usual sense, it's the Power 1000. One piece of housekeeping first: DJI's current lineup lists a Power 500, a Power 1000 Mini, a Power 2000 and a Power 1000 V2, and the unit priced here at $699 is the earlier base Power 1000. Confirm the model number on the listing. This isn't a clearance signal either: $699 across 1,024Wh works out at $0.68 per Wh, above the Explorer 300D's $179 across 288Wh at $0.62. It's just two near-identical names one click apart.

The 300W rating clears the largest single appliance in five of the six scenarios on this page, and that fact is worth nothing, because the peak-demand check only asks whether the number is big enough and never asks whether there's a socket. The one scenario it fails on watts, Tailgate Party's 400W, it would also have failed on architecture.

Why it mattersAnyone who reads the output column as "what I can plug in" should ignore the Explorer 300D's 300W entirely and read its port list instead.
It doesn't rescue the Jackery, because 320Wh is more than its 288Wh nameplate before any derate is applied at all. Read the Explorer 300D's column as a category error rather than a losing score. It appears to meet the peak draw in five of the six scenarios because that test compares its 300W rating to the biggest appliance and stops there. This is the Explorer 300D's honest win and it shouldn't be waved away. If the unit's job is to live in a backpack for a weekend of shooting photos, that gap is not a rounding error, it's the difference between bringing it and leaving it home. The Power 1000 is portable in the sense that a car battery is portable.

The lifespan estimates deserve the same scepticism. Both units show the same years-of-service figures despite a 1,024Wh-against-288Wh capacity gap, because those estimates count cycles and not what a cycle holds. Draining 288Wh every day and draining 1,024Wh every day are the same number of cycles and wildly different lives.

The Explorer 300D doesn't so much lack UPS as have nowhere to apply it: with no AC outlet, there's no wall-powered device to keep alive through a cut. If you're sizing for a genuine outage or for living in a van, close this tab. You want a 2,000Wh-class station, ideally an expandable one, and neither of these expands at all.
The Bottom Line
Take the Power 1000. The Explorer 300D isn't a cheaper way to get what the DJI does, it's a different machine that shares a category name: 288Wh of DC out of USB ports, with no inverter and no socketB1B3. Once you know that, the capacity gap, the cycle tie and the one-cent lifetime-value difference all stop mattering, because none of them can put a plug in a wall.
The buying instruction is two lines. If everything you own charges over USB-C, save the $520 and get the 5.5 lb Jackery, which does that job well and travels in a way the 28.7 lb DJI never will. If anything you own has a plug, it's the Power 1000 at $699, and the only thing to be careful about is the name on the listing. DJI's own line has already moved on to a V2, and the box you want here is the one that doesn't say so.

Can the Jackery Explorer 300D run a CPAP?
Not a standard AC one, because the unit has no inverter and no AC outlet at all. Its 300W comes out through three USB-C ports, a USB-A and a car socket, so a CPAP would need a manufacturer DC cable to stand any chance. Even then the energy isn't there: the CPAP scenario on this page needs 320Wh and the Explorer 300D's nameplate is 288Wh. The Power 1000 covers that night with 550Wh still in reserve.
Is the DJI Power 1000 the same thing as the Power 1000 V2?
No, and this is the one thing to check before buying. DJI's current lineup lists the Power 500, Power 1000 Mini, Power 2000 and Power 1000 V2, and battery expansion is available on the Power 2000 and the V2 but not on the earlier Power 1000. The unit priced on this page at $699 is that earlier base model. If a listing advertises expansion or a faster wall charge, you're looking at the V2, not this.
Which one is actually cheaper to own?
The table says the Explorer 300D by a cent, $0.16 per lifetime kWh against $0.17. Ignore it. Both units are rated 4,000 cycles, so cost per lifetime kWh is just cost per watt-hour divided by the same number twice, and it tells you nothing the $699-against-$179 price row didn't already. It also can't distinguish DC watt-hours from AC ones.
Will the DJI Power 1000 get me through an 8-hour blackout?
Not the one modelled here. That scenario needs 1,645Wh and the Power 1000 has 870Wh usable, leaving it 775Wh short, which is a little over half the evening. In practice it'll keep a router, a laptop, phones and some lights going comfortably; it won't also carry a fridge for eight hours. If whole-evening backup is the reason you're shopping, this is the wrong size of unit rather than the wrong brand.
What can the Explorer 300D actually power?
Devices, not appliances. You get 288Wh through three USB-C ports, one USB-A and a car socket, which covers laptops, phones, cameras, drone batteries, headlamps and a 12V cooler plug. Think of it as a very large power bank with LFP cells rated past 4,000 cycles rather than as a small power station, and it makes a lot more sense at $179.
