Does either unit's expansion path matter if I plan to add solar panels later?
It matters more for the EP900. Both units accept battery expansion, but the EP900's 9,000W solar input is nearly four times the Apex's 2,400W ceiling, so a bigger array actually has somewhere to send its output. If solar growth is part of your plan, that ceiling is the EP900's strongest argument.
